Railroad Trail

This morning Dad, Mom, and Marilyn made us a big pancake, bacon, and hash brown breakfast. It tasted so good! They spoil us. We decided to go on the railroad trail today since Robby hadn't unloaded his ATV's yet. So after breakfast we got all ready to go. Mom wasn't feeling very well and Marilyn was worried about her back so they stayed home with Caleb. Rob also stayed home because he wanted to plan a geocache activity for the kids. Mylissa had never been on the trail so she came and Julie even came. She cried for the first 20 minutes but then Mylissa switched her to the front of the ATV and she started giggling. She did so much better. Maddy stayed on the back. Bridger rode behind Matt, Chase was behind Shan, Aliyah rode with Robby. Dad was so sweet and let me drive all the way down. Then we switched around on the way back. Dad drove with Bridger on the back because we were worried he was going to fall asleep but he never did. I rode behind Matt and held on for dear life. I kept thinking how I should roll if I were to fall off the back.

We rode about 20 miles heading to Ashton. We stopped at the railroad tunnel and ate some snacks. By now it had been over four hours since we ate breakfast so everyone was hungry. I think Chase ate at least seven packages of fruit snacks. It was a very nutritious lunch. I think this trail is so beautiful especially once you can see the river. Even though its a long trail, it's fun with all the bumps and the scenery is incredible.

Luckily we made better time heading back to the car. Everyone was so tired! Sweet Mom, Matilyn, and Rob had made tin foil dinners and they were almost ready. We were so grateful because we were starving. The kids were so dirty from the ride that we had them jump in the shower really quick before dinner.

Tonight after dinner, the kids went out with Rob and found the geocaches that he had hid during the day. The kids LOVED the "treasure hunt." They had such a fun time running through the back yard looking for the treasures. Rob made sure that every kid had a turn to find one. Rob hid colored beads for the kids to make necklaces with. While they were out, I made a "s'more" treat so everyone went to bed happy.
