Bridger's 6th Birthday

Chase had soccer Friday night and by the time he finished, it was really late and we were starving!  So we decided to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant.  Bridger didn't want it to count as his "birthday dinner" so we told him that we wouldn't tell our waitress and they wouldn't sing to him.  We had the sweetest waitress and she over heard us talking about Bridger's birthday.  So she surprised all of us and came out and sang to "Happy Birthday" to Bridger.  He thought he was really cool wearing the sombrero hat.

Bridger has been so excited for his birthday. We've have been counting down the days for two weeks. He wanted sweet rolls for breakfast and he wanted to make sure that he got to eat on the "red plate" (the you are special plate.) He opened a few presents after breakfast. I love watching him open his presents because he is so animated and excited. He'll say "I wanted this!!!" He was very happy with the present that Chase gave him which was "Star Wars Pods." They're mini squishy star wars figures that fit into little balls or pods. We talked Bridger into having a friend party at the H. city splash pad. He invited Brody, Bronco, Isaac, Dax, Jackie, Logan, Aliyah, and Chase. The kids played in the "river" and the water fountains. We gave everyone a couple of water guns. We had been there about 20 minutes when the water shut off for a little break. The kids wanted to open presents so Bridger opened all of his gifts. He got some really fun gifts. They kids went back to the water to play some more. Towards the end, we sand "happy birthday" to Bridger and ate marshmallow brownies. Bridger doesn't like cake so he requested marshmallow brownies. They are his favorite! He ate two big pieces. He had chocolate all over his fingers and mouth but he was in heaven. We were going to leave after the brownies but the kids wanted to play for a little longer. Angie and the girls arrived this morning from California. It was perfect because they spent the day with us and were able to come to Bridger's party.

Bridger had a few presents left and he wanted Angie to watch him open them so he opened them before we went to dinner. He was happy to get some Cars squinkies. The best was when he opened the playmobil vacation house. He had the biggest smile on his face. He was so excited!!!  Bridger has changed his mind on a daily basis on where to eat for his birthday. His final decision was JCW's. So we went out to eat with the Mendoza's. Bridger sat by Angie and she was cracking up how Bridger has to be touching you when he sits by you. He had to rest his arm on hers. It was really funny. That is one of the things that I love about Bridger is how he loves to snuggle. It was wonderful to spend the day with The Mendoza's.  H. city was doing fireworks for their city days so we told Bridger that we had arranged to have fireworks go off for this birthday. He totally believed us! When we pulled into the driveway the Savages were out on their lawn. Bridger said "I know why they're on their lawn, they're waiting for my fireworks."  It made us laugh!
Bridger is such a happy boy. He is very excited to start kindergarten in a couple of weeks. He loves to play playmobil, ride bikes and scooters, play cars and Legos. I love to watch him when he plays with his swords and guns. He has such a great imagination. He still loves miniature toys. His favorites right now are squinkies and star wars pods. His favorite foods are: Spaghetti O's, yogurt, chocolate banana marshmallow shakes, and Oreos. He loves to eat at Subway with Dad and Paradise bakery with Mom. He occasionally takes a nap when he's really tired. The other day he was playing with a friend and he was being onery. So I told him that his friend would need to go home and he would take a nap if he couldn't play nice. He looked at me and his friend and said "ok!" He marched upstairs and actually fell asleep!  He loves to be with his big brother Chase. Anything that Chase does, Bridger wants to do it. They have such a sweet relationship. I'm grateful they are so close.
