Happy St. Patrick's Day

I love spring!  I'm so glad we're finally experiencing some signs of spring.  Our weather can be so crazy this time of year.  One day it's snowing and then the next day it's 60 degrees.  I love to see the buds on the trees and the tulips starting to poke up.  It feels wonderful to spend time outside.  Bridger made this "March" kite.  He is very into drawing strips.

All week at school, Bridger has been learning about St. Patrick's Day.  He learned about rainbows, Leprechauns, and gold.  He came home one day and said "mom! My hair is the same color as Leprechauns!"  He wanted to know how he could get an orange beard like leprechauns.  His teacher told him that Leprechauns are as big as your thumb.  I've learned a lot this week!  So Bridger and Chase really wanted to catch a leprechaun.  So we made this bundt cake Friday night.  We were hoping that the gold coins would trick the leprechauns and then they would fall in the middle and get stuck in the frosting.  Unfortunately we didn't catch any although we had footprints in our cake.  Bridger and Chase were worried about getting pinched.  So they made sure that they wore their Star Wars pjs on Friday night.

The boys were on the lookout for leprechauns.  I was a sucker and let the boys have chocolate cake for breakfast.  The silly leprechauns turned our milk green, peed in our toilets, and then left a gold coin trail throughout the house.  Luckily they left two footballs hiding at the end of the trail.

Bridger made lots of fun things at school this week.  We've had them taped to our back window as decorations.  He painted a shamrock with a sponge. He counted gold pieces, and then colored a leprechaun.
