Happy Birthday Dad and Sheridan Ranch Ride

This morning after breakfast, I saw Dad and Bridger looking out the window with the binoculars. Bridger was doing it exactly like Grandpa. It was such a sweet moment I just had to capture it. Today is Dad’s birthday. We asked Dad what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said he wanted to go on a ride around the Sheridan ranch. So we loaded up the four wheelers. Matt drove one four-wheeler with Chase and Bridger on the back. Grandpa drove the other one with Maddy on the back. Marilyn, Mom, and Julianna followed in the Tahoe. The weather was perfect. It was low 60’s with beautiful blue skies. The white wild flowers are starting to come out. On the backside of Sheridan ranch, there were fields and fields of white wild flowers and then dandelions. It was so beautiful. We went a little ways up canyon 327 but then it started to sprinkle on us so we turned back and headed home. I ended up riding my bike for 28.5 miles. It was a great bike ride.

Mom fixed a wonderful turkey dinner for Dad’s birthday. Then I made turtle brownies for Dad. Maddy wanted to do a whole box of candles for Dad. Once we got all the candles in, we realized that the brownies were still too hot because it started to melt the candles. We ended up having to dig out chunks of candle wax. Other than that, they tasted really good. Dad had about four different ice cream flavors to choose from to go with your brownie. Dad opened a few presents. The kids all made special cards for Grandpa. Mom handed him a present and Dad said, “Are these my slippers?” Dad was just joking but they really were new slippers. So we all had a good laugh when dad opened his new slippers. Mom actually gave him two pairs. Marilyn gave Dad his favorite treat "See's" candy. One box was half bordeaux. I thought it was very generous of Dad to share. I would want to eat the box all by myself. We played a round of Uno Attack and had a great time with the kids. They love to play games.
