Canyon 327

Today we had such a great day. I made blueberry muffins for breakfast. Then we all headed out for an adventure. We wanted to go up canyon 327. So Mom and Marilyn were on one four-wheeler, Dad and Bridger on another one, Chase rode on the back of Robby, and Shantelle and Aliyah were on another one. I wanted to ride my mountain bike. I absolutely love this canyon. It's a great challenge but not so hard that I want to throw up. It is so beautiful!!! I told Mom and Dad to scatter my ashes up this canyon when I die. When we made it to the top, we had a little picnic. Shantelle took the boys on a little hike while they were waiting for me.

When we reached the bottom, Marilyn and Mom were ready to head back so they took Aliyah with them. Then the rest of us headed down the road to a Nez Pearce Indian monument. They have made 3 flat statues out of steel, of Indians on their horses. So Shantelle had us take some crazy pictures. We were laughing so hard. Dad thought we were crazy.
Then we went up a new canyon (33). It's on the opposite side of canyon 327. Matt and Rob discovered it last week. Dad took Mom and Marilyn on it and they hated it because they thought it was too bumpy and rough. So we tried it out. The trail isn't very clear and there are lots of big rocks and trees you have to go over. Then there are a few streams you have to go through. We loved it. Bridger has been asking every morning if we can go on this canyon. They were with Matt when he went. The boys thought the trail was so fun and adventurous.

By the time we got home, it was dinner time. Shantelle and Robby fixed a delicious chicken pot pie in the Dutch oven. It tasted so good. The boys did a little cousin camp. Grandma got out some stickers for them. Chase has been watching movies on our old ipod. Bridger just loves to be right next to him.
After I put the boys to bed, we had a movie night. We watched "The Tourist." I was the only one that had seen it. At the end of it, everyone but Robby went "booooo." I was totally laughing at their reactions because it was exactly how I felt. I thought it was a stupid slow movie. But Marilyn said "at least I watched a movie and I enjoyed the scenery."

Yellowstone Again

The kids were so excited to wear their new Yellowstone shirts today. So this morning everyone but me, Mom and Mylissa, went into Yellowstone. They loaded up two cars and headed into Yellowstone. It was so nice to have a quiet day. After everyone left, we just sat on the couches and talked for a couple of hours. Mylissa gets really dizzy and short of breath when she gets up and walks around. So we kept things really quiet for her. Rob and Mylissa decided this morning that they would head home tonight instead of tomorrow. Mylissa talked to her doctor's office and they want to evaluate her in the morning. She has been through so much. I think it's so frustrating for her because her mind wants her to be strong and healthy and her body just doesn't cooperate.

The kids came home so excited because they saw 3 bears. At one of the stops, there was a black bear and a cinnamon bear by each other. Marilyn wondered if one was the mother and the other one was an older cub. Aliyah loved seeing all the animals. They saw lots of elk at Mammoth. Bridger was asleep when they got to Mammoth. So Dad and Marilyn tried to wake him up. Marilyn said that when we woke up the only person he wanted was Chase. He went and snuggled with Chase. Marilyn said it was so sweet. The wind was really bad today. Dad said that they had 6 different traffic jams related to trees being blown over and blocking off the road. I went on a bike ride up Willow Creek Canyon. It's the first time I've ever had to pedal hard to get downhill. That's how hard the wind was blowing.
Everyone came home around 6:00. So we ate a quick dinner before they left. Mom had put a lasagna in the oven. Rob suggested that Mylissa have a blessing before they left. So Dad, Rob, and Robby gave Mylissa a blessing. Dad gave the blessing and it was really tender. The spirit was very strong. We're so grateful for the gospel in our lives and that we can call upon our Heavenly Father's help at any time.
After the W's left,we had a Wii party. We played the game "Just Dance." Even Marilyn danced to Michael Jackson. It was hysterical seeing us dance. Bridger was even dancing. Then we played Beatles rock band. We took turns rotating the instruments. It cracks me up listening to Bridger sing his little heart out. He loves it. Mom even got Dad singing. It was a fun night.

Happy Birthday Mylissa

For Mylissa's birthday we went into West Yellowstone. Shantelle, Robby, and Aliyah went to the bear and wolf exhibit. The rest of us wandered around looking for shirts for the kids. It's a tradition that grandma and grandpa buy all the kids Yellowstone t-shirts. It was funny to see how the kids are starting to have an opinion about what shirt they want. They all picked out very different shirts. But they were all very excited with their new shirts. Thanks grandpa and grandma! Then we went and had an ice cream treat at Dairy Queen. Unfortunately it wasn't very good. We told Dad that next time we'll stick with all the ice cream that he buys.
On the way home, Shantelle and Robby saw this moose. She has the best luck. She'll say "I want to see a moose." Then bam, there's a moose. She took a picture so she would have proof. We're just jealous. Good eyes Shan!
When we got home, everyone but Mylissa, Marilyn, Mom, Rob, Julie, and Aliyah, went on a four-wheel ride up canyon 42. We call it the Sound of Music canyon because the hills look like the hills in the first part of the movie. We tried to go up it last week but there was too much snow. So tonight we only had one part that had a lot of snow. Dad and Shantelle went around the snow but Robby loved driving the four-wheeler in it. Then Shantelle, Maddy, Chase, and Bridger played in the snow. They looked like penguins sliding on their bellies. I rode my bike till the snow part. It's a really hard trail but I love going back down. The view from the top is so beautiful!!! Normally there is one part on the trail that is filled with wild flowers but this year there is not one flower yet.
Tonight for Mylissa's birthday cake, Rob made a peach cobbler and then a Dutch apple streusel dessert. It was so yummy!!! Then Mylissa opened her presents. Mom and I made her baby blankets. Shantelle made her a really cute happy birthday banner. Marilyn teased us that we have turned int domestic divas. Poor Mylissa, she has felt so crappy. We're all hoping that next year's birthday will be so much better.
