Snuggle Time

I was putting Tanner down for a nap and he fell asleep in my arms.  I had to capture the moment because he's growing so fast.  I love it when Tanner falls asleep in my arms.

Tanner likes to climb on my bed and get my minky blanket.  He's turned it into a joke because it drives me crazy!  I came out of my bathroom to find Tanner snuggling with Sophie on my bed with my blanket.  Look at his big smile!

I love it when Tanner falls asleep in his car seat.  He gets this pouty look on his face that's so cute.  The other night, Tanner was sad so Chase gave him a big hug.  I happened to capture the moment.  It was so sweet.  Tanner is lucky to have such loving older brothers.
I think this picture of Chase and Bridger on their devices is funny.  I love how they're right next to each other.

I came home from mutual one night to find Bridger and Tanner sitting on the couch looking through the Island Park scrapbooks.  Bridger started talking about the fun memories we've had over the years.
Tanner loves to snuggle with his brothers.  When he wakes up from a nap, he'll go over to them and snuggle with them.  If he's watching tv, he likes to snuggle with them too.  Chase is so sweet to snuggle with him.
Matt and I were on a date one night and when we got home, we found Bridger and Tanner in bed together.  I love how Bridger put a pillow next  to the wall to protect Tanner.  Tanner just loves to be right next to his brothers.  This picture reminded me of one just like this of Chase and Bridger sleeping in a bed together when Bridger was about Tanner's age.

We have windows!!!

Colby and his crew have been putting our windows in this past month.  I died when I saw this front "den" window because it looked ginormous!!!  But once they got the window in, it didn't look as big. The picture on the right is our formal sitting room.

My favorite room in the house is our family room upstairs.  I love the big windows!!!  There is so much natural light that is let into the house.  It's going to be my happy place.  Plus our view is beautiful!

These windows are in our master bedroom.  We designed them to fit around our big bed posts.  They made the side windows wrong because the first line is supposed to match the middle transtrum window.  The main window in our bedroom turned out to be ginormous.  Once they put the window in, it broke it up a little so it doesn't look as big.  I may never afford blinds but I love my big windows.
This is my window in my shower.  Originally it was supposed to have window blocks but they were really expensive so we just put a clear glass window i the shower.  I love the natural light in my shower.  I hope the water doesn't splash up on it and then I'm fighting water marks.  I'll guess we'll find out one day.  The other window is right above the tub in the master bathroom.

This is our basement family room.  I love how we dug it out so it doesn't feel like a dungeon.  It feels like a two story house because the basement has so much natural light.

Cute Nieces

Lilly has been wanting to make a snowman so Shantelle went out and helped the girls make their first snowman of the season.  Lilly was so happy!!!

AF finally got a lot of snow so Robby made a giant snowman with the girls.   Pretty impressive!

They got so much snow, that Robby got out their four-wheeler and put the girls behind him on a sled. Shantelle sent us the cutest video of the girls on the sled.  You could hear them giggling.  They had so much fun.
This was Shan's Christmas card.  I think it wins for the cutest Christmas card.  I think the girls look darling.  I love my nieces!!!
I had to drive down to AF to pick up our bath tubs.  As I was getting ready to leave, the idea came to me to bring home Aliyah and Lilly for the night.  Shantelle threw together their stuff in a couple of minutes and then we were on our way.  We watched "Beauty and the Beast."  I haven't seen that cartoon forever.  The girls loved it.  Bridger was so happy to play with Aliyah and Lilly and Tanner are peas in a pod together.  They are turning into such cute buddies.  Shan met us in Layton at Chase's basketball game the next day.  It was a quick sleepover but I think everyone had a good time.  On the way down, Lilly, Aliyah and Tanner crashed!  I've missed not living by the C's.  I miss the little every day moments with the girls.  I was so happy that we could spend some time with them for a couple of days.  I love my nieces.

Flooding All Around Us

This is a view out of our back windows looking at the field that is east of our house.  We've had a lot of rain and then the temperature warmed up to the 60's.  The snow melted really fast and we had lots of flooding as a result.  Luckily our basement was able to stay dry through all of this but we had lots of neighbors that had flooding.

It seemed like all the fields turned into lakes.  The city brought big pumps in so try to help clear some of the streets because water was flooding the streets.

This is the old Lazy Boy warehouse.  It had at least a 2-4 foot lake in it's parking lot.  It was crazy to see.  People have been so helpful to fill sandbags for the community.  Chase's basketball team for one of their activities filled sandbags.  It was a great service project for them.

Happy Valentine's Day

Bridger said that he wanted to make a "basketball" valentines box.  Luckily the internet gave me some great ideas.  We came up with this awesome box.  Bridger received this basketball hoop as a bingo gift at Christmas time.  It was perfect for his box.  We almost had a tragedy because Sophie got the ball and chewed it up a little.  So I super glued it back together to salvage the ball.

For a Valentine's gift, we gave Chase and Bridger minky blankets and Tanner got a "paw patrol" blanket.  The boys were very happy with their gifts!!!

The next day, Tanner helped me make Valentine sugar cookies for my Laurels.  Tanner loved playing in the flour.  He had flour everywhere!  I remembered why I haven't made sugar cookies in years...they take forever!  My laurels came over that night and we frosted them and then took them around to some families in our ward.

Flooding in the Basement

After I finished exercising, I heard some water draining in the furnace room.  So I opened the door and found a couple of inches of water.  I quickly opened up the cold storage room and found more water.  Water was coming out of the sump pump bucket area.  Luckily Matt was home so he was able to help me.  Chase was home sick but he still came and helped.  We moved things quickly out of the cold storage room, furnace room and the toy room into Chase's room.  Then I called around to our friends asking if they had a shop vac we could use.  Cami brought one over and Michael came over too and helped us.  Matt ran to the local hardware store and bought us a new sump pump.  It looks like the sump pump died so no water was being pumped out.  At least it was just "water melt" water and now sewer water.

The shop vacs got the bulk of the water but it just wasn't strong enough to get it out of the carpet.  So I called mom and asked if we could borrow their Rug Doctor.  Dad met me in Riverdale with the Rug Doctor.  I brought it straight home.  Matt stayed up until 1:00am sucking the water out of the carpet and then the pad.  I had to work the next day so I went to bed.  I was going to call in sick but then I got a text saying they were super busy and short nurses so I couldn't do that to them.  When I went to work the next day I told them my situation and they were great to figure out a way to let me go home later in the afternoon.  Matt pulled up the carpet the next day and borrowed fans.  We kept the fans going for a couple of weeks.  Keven was out of town so we handled everything.  When he came home, he was very grateful that everything turned out well.  We really lucked out because the flood was uneven and there was a low spot in the middle of the room. Luckily the water drained to the middle and did not ruin the walls and baseboards.
To top it all off, Chase was home sick with the flu.  Then Saturday morning, Tanner woke up crying and pulling at his ear.  Matt took him into the ER and had the doctor take a look.  Sure enough, Tanner had an ear infection.  So poor Matt had two sick kids and was dealing with a flooded basement.  He's such a great guy!!
Matt sent me this picture when I was at work.  I was so happy when I was able to get out of work early and come home to my family.  I love the people I work with because they have my back.
