I didn't realize it but the boy's spring break was scheduled during the week of Matt's birthday and we made plans to go to BL. The problem was that Matt couldn't come up to BL because of work so he was alone on his birthday. I felt bad but Matt said to still go to BL. So we celebrated his birthday on Sunday before we left. We invited his parents up for dinner and cake. Matt wanted the yellow chocolate chip cake. Luckily sweet Tiff and Layne invited Matt up to their house the night of his birthday. Tiff picked up pie so they sang happy birthday to him and had a slice of pie. They also watched the new Star Wars movie in their theater room so Matt was in heaven. (We gave him a gift certificate for Star Wars because it didn't come in time for his bday).
Matt's joked that turning 45 he's closer to 50 now than 40 so he tells me all the time "I'm almost 50!" He thinks he's so old but he's still a young chick. But we joke all the time that "he's almost 50." Matt hasn't had a nice pair of sunglasses since Bailey ate his Oakley glasses in Minnesota. So I researched a lot of sunglasses and bought Matt a pair of Maui Jims. (They're super nice!) He seemed excited with them. I hope he likes them. He also got a new fan because the one on his night stand is dying and heaven forbid he sleeps without a fan.
