Scout Campout

Chase and Matt went on a camping trip with the scouts in our ward.  Normally it's just the deacons that go but this time the teachers were invited because they're working on their hiking merit badge.  They camped at Devil's Playground which was about an hour away from here.  They loved climbing and jumping on the big rocks.  I think the boys hiked 10 miles but Matt said it was a boring hike because it was along a dirt road.  Matt hiked about 5 miles of it but then they needed him to follow along in his truck so he and Jason T were happy to help with that.  I'm grateful that Chase has such great leaders!  I'm also grateful that Matt gets to spend some of this "church" time with Chase.  Chase has done an amazing job of making friends in this ward.   Unfortunately it rained on them a little bit.  It seems like every campout Chase and Matt go on, it rains on them.

Good times at the PC Game

Some of Bridger baseball games games are held at a really nice park in Plain City.  After the double header, Bridger and Chase played at the park together.  It's nice because Tanner is getting old enough that he can climb things and go down the slide by himself.  He's getting to be such a big boy.  After Bridger's last game, the team came over and played together.  I found myself giggling just watching those silly boys.  It makes me so grateful that Bridger is on this team because they are a bunch of really nice boys with great families.
After Bridger's games, we drove past the Plain City cemetery so we stopped and found Grandpa and Grandma Taylor's head stone.  At first I couldn't find it but I knew I was in the general area.  So Bridger jumped out of the car and started running around looking for "Taylor."  He got so excited when he found theirs.  He yelled out "I found it! I found it!"  It was a tender moment telling Bridger about my grandma and grandpa Taylor and what amazing people they were.  Tanner on the other hand was climbing and jumping on the headstones.  I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't been out to their grave since I was in high school.  It was a really sweet moment to share this with my children.

I took a picture of both of the boys in front of their grave but then Bridger asked if I would take a picture of just him in front of their grave.  I sent the pictures to mom and she said it made her cry.

Lunch Buddy

Tanner is our little lunch buddy.  Matt and I were on some errands and we stopped by CFA for lunch. It was a big milestone for Tanner because he ate the french fries!!!  I got a free cookies and cream shake and Tanner LOVED it.  He didn't like sharing it with me because anytime I would take it away to have a sip he would say "No! Mine!"  When Bridger got home from school, he saw my drink and he was mad that we went to CFA without him.  It's nice to have a little lunch buddy.

Tanner's Cold

I started noticing that when Tanner is cold, he puts his arms together and raises his shoulders and does this little shake.  So I asked him if he's cold and he said "cold."  He looks so cute doing this that we'll say to him "Tanner, are you cold?"  He'll make this cute little face for us.  It cracks us up.  The top picture, he was being silly because he stuck his tongue out.  He keeps us laughing!

Tanner's First Hair Cut

Tanner's hair is getting out of control.  When he gets out of the bathtub or when it's humid, his curls are so cute.  But the rest of the time he looks like a rag-a-muffin.  It's all fuzzy and ratted.  Plus he's getting called a girl at least once a week.  So I made an appointment for Tanner to get his hair cut by the sweet gal that cuts mine.  I made the appointment so everyone could come and watch.

Nicki did a great job cutting Tanner's hair.  At first, Tanner wouldn't sit in the chair all alone so Tanner sat on Chase's lap.  Nicki started with the clippers and it scared Tanner and he started to cry.  So I immediately got out some fruit snacks and it made everything better.  Tanner cheered right up and was perfectly content as long as the fruit snacks kept coming.  He went through two packs but it was worth it because he was great during his hair cut.

Tanner's curls are all gone and his hair is very short but he looks so handsome.  His baby look is all gone and he looks like my little man.

"Best Day of My Life!"

Matt had tickets to a Jazz game but unfortunately he got stuck at work so I got to go with Bridger!  We had such fun night!  We ate dinner at Crown Burger and then headed over to the arena.  As we started walking down the stairs to get to our seats, Bridger looked up and said "Mom! Look at the blimp!"  It was just above the left side of our heads.  As we were looking at it, it dropped the prize ticket just to the left of us where no one was sitting.  An older man raced Bridger for the ticket.  Bridger had the ticket in his hand but the older man took it out of his hand.  Luckily he gave it back to Bridger.  We still had a few minutes before the game started so we went and redeemed Bridger's ticket.  We had to go down on the main floor and wait until after the national anthem and announcing all of the players.  It made it really fun to be up close to all the action.  Then we went down a hallway and Bridger gave them his ticket.  They handed Bridger a really nice basketball signed by all of the Jazz players.  He had the biggest smile on his face!!!
The Jazz battled it out but they fell short of a win.  It was their last home game so all of the jerseys were 40% off.  So I was a sucker and bought jerseys for Bridger and Chase.  They picked out green jerseys.  Bridger's says "HOOD" and Chase's says "HAYWARD."  Bridger was so excited to wear his jersey to school the next day.  He looks great in it.  On the way home we call Grandma R.  Bridger set a new record for talking on the phone.  He talked to Grandma for almost 30 minutes!!! When I tucked him into bed Bridger said "Tonight was the best day of my life!"  It was so sweet.  What a great night!

Sleepy Heads

We were coming home from one of Chase's basketball games and it was 10:00.  Bridger and Tanner crashed on the way home.  When we got home, this was what I found in the back seat.  I had to capture the moment.  I thought they looked so sweet!  February 20, 2016

In this picture, we were coming home from one of Bridger's baseball games and it was a later game.  by the time we got home this is what I found in the back seat.  Even Chase fell asleep.  I thought it was so sweet how Bridger is sleeping on Chase.  Tanner fell too.  I think everyone played so hard that they're exhausted.

Spring Break

Sweet Kaye and Allan allowed us to use their cabin for our spring break.  We went up on Monday because Kaye, Allan, Mares, Mom and Dad were up there over the weekend for General Conference. Just as we pulled in their driveway, Kaye and Allan were packing up their car.  So we went upstairs and visited for a little before they left.  We tried to convince them to stay up there with us but they had some doctor appointments to go to.  They are so generous in letting us come up and stay at their cabin.  It was a really quiet cabin break because it was just me and my kids and Shan and her kids.  We stayed Monday-Friday because we had to come back for Jannika's wedding shower on Saturday and Bridger had a baseball tournament all day Saturday.  We enjoyed everyday at the cabin!  They boys played on their iPods a lot!  We watched movies, went for walks, animal drives, took naps, made pearler beads designs, and just played lots of games.

Mares left up some zingers for us to eat.  They were a big hit with the kids!

Lilly and Tanner are playing on their "electronic devices" too.  They both have little laptop computers that they like to play on.

I went for bikes rides.  There was only one day that I couldn't go because it was too cold and rainy but the rest of the days, I took long bike rides by the lake.  I absolutely love biking in Bear Lake.  It's beautiful!

One of our activities was decorating eggs.  Neither one of us did it at Easter time so we cooked a bunch of eggs and then had a decorating party.  The kids loved it and were very creative.

This is one of our favorite activities at the cabin......watching a movie!!!  Shan felt so sick at night that she couldn't stay up and watch movies so we watched a couple of movies during the day.  A couple of nights, the boys stayed up and watched a movie with me.
There was still some snow at the cabin.  My boys brought up their snow clothes so they played in the snow and had a ball.  Tanner and Lilly took these monster trucks out and played in the snow with them.

Tanner and Lilly took their blankets out on the front porch and laid in the sunshine.  It's been a long winter.  It was so cute to see them laying on their blankets soaking up the sunshine.  They got board of just laying on their blankets so they brought the game Tenzie outside and played it.  Their game turned into throwing the dice off the porch so we never recovered all of the dice.

Chase's favorite thing to do was play on his iPhone.  Aliyah and Bridger's favorite thing to do was play with pearler beads.  They made some really fun designs.  Bridger made a BYU football helmet and Aliyah made a big birthday cake.

On our last night, we drove into town and ate at the Hungry Bear for pizza.  We were done with cooking  (even though we've kept things really simple).  On our way home we saw a ton of deer at the bottom of the hill.  We were pulled over to the side of the road and a lady stopped and asked us if we were ok.  We said we were ok and were just looking at all of the deer.  I think they're pretty used to it up there because she looked at us kind of funny.
