Chase and Bridger's First Day of School

Chase started 7th grade at AH Int school. School starts at 7:35 which is really early for us!!  Chase wakes up at 6:45 and leaves for school at 7:30.  Luckily the school is really close to our home so Chase walks to school.  He gets out of school at 2:35 which is nice.  He has 7 classes every day but one of those classes is used to make up missed homework or get help with a teacher.  If you don't have anything to make up, then you can do something fun like play soccer, basketball, play games, etc.  They have lots of fun things for the students to do during that time.  We met all of Chase's teachers at back to school night.  We were really impressed with them.  Chase is really excited to take Intro to Spanish.  He has his own locker which is close to his first class.  Luckily he knows someone in every class but one.  At lunch he eats with some soccer friends.  We've been so grateful for his soccer team!!!!

Look what handsome boys they are!!!
I love this picture of the boys hugging each other before Chase leaves for school.  They are such good friends!!!

At first we were going to have Bridger go the elementary school by our house but we just didn't feel good about it.  Luckily after lots of prayers and visits at the other school, the principal called us the Friday before school started and said that Bridger could come to their school.  I didn't realize how stressed out I was about this decision, but I was so relieved once Bridger was accepted.  I walked Bridger into to meet his teacher for the first time the first day of school.  I could tell he was so nervous!  Mrs. H came over to Bridger and put her arm around him and said "Bridger, I'm so glad you're in my class!"  I almost started to cry!!!  I was so impressed and grateful for a nurturing teacher.     Her classroom was darling.  It was filled with so many fun things.  She's very organized and sends home a newsletter every week.  I wanted to stay with Bridger all day but Tanner and I walked away.  This is a picture of Bridger at his new desk.  He looks so nervous.  Luckily the first day of school went really well.  Bridger was able to find Thomas at recess so he had a friend to play with.  Bridger starts school at 8:30 and gets out at 2:50.  It takes us 5-7 minutes to drive to his school which is really nice.

Happy 38th Birthday Rachael

For my birthday, I went down to Myissa and dropped Chase and Bridger off at their house to play with her kids.  Then Mylissa and I headed over to F. S. to meet Mom, Marilyn and Shan.  We had such a fun time!  We ate lunch at a yummy hamburger place and then hit a few shops.  The time went way to quickly!!!  Shan had to leave at 2:30 to pick up Aliyah.  We went back to Mylissa's house because she made me my favorite cake, yellow cake with chocolate chips!!  Dad came down and joined the fun.  The kids had so much fun playing together.  When we got ready to leave, the boys said that they never went swimming so we stayed an extra hour.  The water was super cold but they were crazy and still played in the water for a little bit.  We finally left around 6:00.  We met Matt in BC at Costa Vida for dinner.  It was a great day!!!

Celebrating Bridger's Birthday with the R's

Shan and Mylissa hadn't seen our new house and town so we picked a day for everyone to come up and see our new life and celebrate Bridger's birthday.  Mom brought up a ton of food which we ate for lunch and dinner.  Marilyn made her delicious potato salad.  After lunch we drove everyone around our new town and showed them the different places that we're thinking of building on.  It was fun to get their opinions.

Bridger wanted a costco chocolate cake for his birthday but I told him we needed to have it when we had a lot of people over.  So sweet mom brought up a costco chocolate cake for Bridger.  He was so happy!!!Bridger was spoiled with lots of presents from everyone.  The craze right now is beanie boos so Bridger was thrilled to get lots of beanie boos.  Shan gave him a bigger leopard beanie boo and Marilyn gave him a flag football set and a penguin and tiger beanie boo.  The W's gave Bridger a couple of cute playmobil sets.  One of the sets has an orange haired baby that Bridger loves.  Mom and Dad gave Bridger a super big Minion that lights up and talks.

Tanner loved the chocolate cake too!!!

Playing In Our New Back Yard

Tanner loves to play outside.  He likes to hold onto the smaller ball thrower and pre tent like he's throwing the ball for Sophie.  He's trying to figure out how to jump on the trampoline.  He looks a little shocked when Sophie jumps up on the trampoline with him.  Im so grateful we have such a great backyard!!  July 9th

Tanner has figured out how to climb up and then go down his little slide.  He loves to climb on his little jungle gym and go down the slide.
The boys are so sweet to play with Tanner outside.  They take him down the big slide and swing with him.  Tanner is getting braver and learning how to go down the big slide with a little bit of help.  Before long he'll be climbing up the ladder and going down all by himself.

Showing Easton our new Town

Chase's friend Easton came up for the first time and stayed a few days with us.  We were getting a little board around the house so we decided to go sight seeing.  We took the kids over to Golden Spike at P point to see the trains.  We got there 30 minutes before it was closing but it was perfect because they were just getting ready to move the trains back into the garages.  So one train was already moved but we still got to see one train move.  We took a quick up close look at the train before it left.

After the train left, we went back inside and watched a quick movie about the trains meeting.  Bridger was so funny because he kept saying "I don't get it."  So we would explain it again but he had a hard time understanding why this was a historic site and a "big deal."  It had been really hot during the week but luckily some thunderclouds rolled in and cooled it off for us.  As we were walking out to the car it started to sprinkle on us.  I would rather have than then the hot sun beating down on us.
The Jupiter train is a real steam engine.  The boys wanted to take a silly picture so they laid down on the railroad tracks and pretended like they were sleeping or dead.

Then we headed out to see the rockets at ATK.  The kids were pretty impressed with the rockets.  Tanner was only interested in throwing rocks.  They had fun climbing on everything.

L with Easton

Easton's dad was having a knee replacement so we invited him to come and stay with us for a few days.  Matt was off that week and wanted to go to L with the boys so we met Easton there and then brought him back to our house for a few days.  The kids had a blast at L.  It was super hot so they loved going on all the water rides.  They got soaked!

Tanner and I spent a lot of time together waiting for the boys while they rode the rides.
The boys went on Cliff Hanger a couple of times so they were dripping wet by the end of the ride.  Their clothes were so wet that you could wring them out.  I'm getting to be such a sissy that their are only a few rides that my tummy can tolerate.  So I went on the while roller coaster, blast off and cannibal.  (I can only handle cannibal one time).

Easton had never ridden Cannibal so we made sure that he rode it a couple of times.  Cannibal is the boys' favorite ride!!!  I think they were ride it the entire time.

Bridger's 9th Birthday

Bridger had an early birthday party before we moved but I decided to do a little party with Nicholas, Thomas, and Max on Bridger's birthday.  I took the kids over to the swimming pool and let them play and swim for a couple of hours.  Then we came back and had cake and ice cream.  It was really simple party but it sure made Bridger happy to have some friends over.
Chase, Thomas, Bridger, Max and Nicholas

When I asked Bridger what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted an oreo ice cream cake.  I used Amy's recipe and it turned out really yummy with the cookies and cream ice cream.  The kids snarfed it up!

Bridger really wanted some WWW wrestling guys.  Brody gave him one at his early birthday party but he wanted some more so they could fight.  He was very excited to get three new guys.  He also got the new playmobil swat team vehicle and some swat guys.  Chase helped me pick out a "flat brim" hat for Bridger.  We couldn't decide between two hats so we ordered both of them.  Chase let Bridger choose first and then he took the one that Bridger didn't want.  They look very hip in their flat brim hats.
Bridger was asked to help participate in a family home evening at the nursing home by our house.  The primary was in charge of the family home evening.  When the primary president asked if Bridger would help I told her it was his birthday. But when I asked Bridger he said he definitely wanted to help out.  He shared why he wants to go the temple one day.  It was a very sweet testimony.  He had to be there at 7:00 in church clothes so before that we went out to dinner at the local hamburger place.  At first Bridger said he wanted to go to Madox for dinner but when I asked him what he wanted to eat there he said a ham and cheese sandwich.  We were going to be tight on time so we just went to the local hamburger place.  Bridger was happy with his ham and cheese sandwich.  Afterwards we came back to the house and opened up the rest of Bridger's presents.
Bridger's favorite gift was a new iPod touch!!!  His face was priceless because he was very surprised. He was so excited to get a new iPod touch.  He's very happy with the red one Matt picked out for him.
Bridger got some more peeler beads with some idea books.  The next morning he picked out this awesome fish tank design.  He worked diligently on it for three days.  It turned out so cool!
Bridger wrote Brody a letter because he's been missing him.  Brody wrote Bridger back and it was perfect because Brody's letter came on Bridger's birthday.  It made Bridger so happy to hear back from Brody!
