Happy Halloween

We carved our pumpkins Thursday night.  I don't thing we've ever carved them so fast.  It was a busy night so we were trying to just get them done.  They boys did a great job carving their own pumpkins.  I talked mom into coming down and helping us Halloween night.  I needed Mom to stay with Tanner while I answered the door.  Mom came down around 11:30 so I could help in Bridger's class without taking Tanner which worked out so well!  Then we went back over to the school around 2:30 for the school parade.  It was so fun having mom with us!

Matt took Bridger out trick or treating.  This was the first year that Chase went with no adult and just his friends.  He went for a few hours.  He felt very grown up.  I took Chase to the Halloween store a few days before Halloween.  After wandering around the store, he finally chose to be a "hippie." He wanted a costume that he could wear the red wig with.  We borrowed the shirt and pants from Shantelle's costume box.  He looked great!  Bridger wanted to be Captain America.  We already had the shield so we just ordered the costume on Amazon.  Easy!

Bridger was feeling a little sad that Chase didn't want to go with him so we told Bridger he could go with his friends too.  He went with Brody and Isaac.  Matt wore Dad's woopie cushion costume.  Matt traded off with one of the parents so he only had to go for an hour.  He took the boys out first.  Both boys got lots of candy!!!!

Mom had some skin cancer removed a couple of days before Halloween.  She had a big zig zag incision on her forehead.  We teased her that she looked like Harry Potter.  I'm so glad she came down and spent the night with us.  She went back home the next morning.  We wanted her to stay all weekend.  Shantelle and her family came up to see us.  It worked out perfectly because Bridger was done trick or treating so he and Aliyah hit some of the houses on our street together.  I took them out and it was so sweet because Aliyah held my hand.  My boys don't hold my hand very often and I miss that so it was nice to have her hold my hand.  Aliyah was Elsa from Frozen.  She looked beautiful!  Lilly was Anna.

Rod Stewart stopped by that night.  I love this picture because after I took it I started to laugh so hard.  Then when I showed Shantelle she got all mad and wanted me to delete it.  It just makes me relive the moment.  We were laughing so hard.  She's a good sport!

Sweet Moment

I came downstairs the other morning and Bridger was sitting on the couch reading his scriptures.  I stopped and just soaked in the moment.  It was so sweet to see him pouring over the scriptures.  I hope he can learn to love the scriptures.

Johnny Jumper

I got out the Johnny Jumper for Tanner.  Luckily this was one of the few things that I kept.  We put Tanner in it and he immediately started to smile!  He just laughed and smiled!  He definitely likes it!  the boys love to put Tanner in the jumper.  First thing in the morning, they put Tanner in it just to see him smile.  He hasn't figured out how to jump but he likes the standing up.

R Halloween Family Party

We had our annual R Halloween party.  Bud and Jill hosted it at their house and it was quite the party.  They had their house all decorated.  We played fun games and ate lots of yummy food and candy!!  Shantelle had been sick with the flu earlier in the week but was feeling better.  But then Aliyah got sick with the flu that day so their family didn't come.  Matt was in Las Vegas on a work conference learning how to do nerve blocks.  Caleb was Spiderman and loved that Bridger was Captain America.  They were best little buddies.  At the end of the night, Caleb said "bye Captain America" and Bridger said back to him "bye Spiderman."  It was so cute to see them playing "super heros" together.

Mom found a "Woppie Cushion" costume for dad.  Everyone had a good laugh when Dad surprised us and walked out in his costume.  I dressed up as a "soccer mom."  Chase was a zombie lacrosse player but you couldn't see his zombie face.  I felt bad for Chase so we went costume shopping before Halloween so Chase could feel like he had more of a costume.  I found Tanner's "bulldog" outfit at Costco and I couldn't resist.  He looks so cute in it!

I love this picture of Caleb and Bridger.  What a treasure!

Bridger's Fall Soccer Season

Bridger had a fun fall soccer season.  We stayed with Coach O so most of the kids were the same.  This year, they get to have goalies.  So Bridger was able to play goalie a few times.  He loved it!!! Coach had a goalie shirt for them to wear and goalie gloves.

Coach O had soccer practice twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:00.  We really worked hard on fundaments and teaching them spacing.  It's been fun to see their improvements!!! Bridger scored several goals during the season.

Tanner 5.5 Months Old

Tanner is five and a half month old now.  He is still such a happy baby.  He only fusses when he's tired, hungry or needs a diaper change.  Otherwise he's mister smiley!  He started rolling over this week.  Once he rolls onto his belly he gets a little mad because it's harder for him to roll back over.

Bridger's Flag Football Season

Bridger had a great flag football season.  Their first game was a disaster but after that they pulled things together and improved with each game.  They only lost two games!  Their team didn't have a coach so Matt volunteered at the beginning of the season.  They held practices on Mondays from 6-7:00.  Then they had two games a week for four weeks (8 games).  Matt was so patient with the boys. The boys would say "I want to do this."  But Matt would say "I'm the coach. I get to decide."  As parents on the side line, we would always laugh.  We had a couple of boys drop out before the season started so our team was a little short on players.  Plus one of our players missed half the season because of a trip.  So the boys got lots of playing time.

Bridger running for a touch down!!!! Grandma and Grandpa A came to one of Bridger's games.  Luckily it was one of his first games so the weather was still warm.  We lucked out this season because we never had to play any games in the rain or snow.  It turned really cold by the end of the season but at least no rain.

I found this cute hat for Tanner to keep him warm.  It came with little mittens too.  I tried it on him in the store and he never tried to pull it off so I bought it.  It's been perfect for the fall weather.
