Matt's 47th Birthday

Matt was heading out of town for a conference and was going to be gone on his birthday.  Since the kids were out of school for spring break and Matt was off for work, we went to Olive Garden to celebrate his dinner with him.  Ardell, Charlene, Angie, and Mikayla joined us too so it made it feel like a party.  

Matt opened his presents the night before his birthday because he was leaving at 6AM on his birthday to head to Washington DC for a conference.  Tanner gave Matt a hammock.  We're going to tie it onto the porch pillars.  I hope it works.

Bridger gave Matt a swimming suit and exercise shorts.  

My neighbor told me about this awesome yard tool that makes it really easy to pull up weeds.  So I ordered one for Matt.  He was surprised by it.  Chase gave Matt some new frying pans because our are horrible!  Now we have lots of different sizes to cook an egg in.  Matt is the master of friend eggs.
Then we had chocolate cake.  Matt always wants chocolate cake.  Luckily I didn't improvise the recipe this year so there were no "rocks" in it.

A next week, we got together with the A's for a yummy dinner and celebrated Mikayla's and Matt's birthday.  I love this picture of Matt and his dad.
