Baseball Game

Matt's UANA group had a meeting.  They carried on the tradition and held their meeting at the Bee's game.  They rented a box for the adults and then we just bought tickets for the boys.  They sat just below the box.  We had yummy Mexican food and the boys got hot dogs and nachos.  (Tanner won't try a hot dog).  During the 7th inning, they told us that the Bee was coming up to see the boxes and that our kids could come up.  So we went down and got them.  Tanner LOVED the Bee!  Chase and Bridger were good sports to get a picture with him.  By now, some of the adults had left the box so we let the boys stay in the box with us.  It ended up being a fun night.  Matt takes over from Ted as the president.  I'm a little nervous about how busy he'll be but we'll make it work.  Hopefully we can still do fun things like this.

Fun with Brody

We worked it out to have Brody come up and spend a few days with us.  Bridger was so excited to spend some time with Brody.  Shantelle brought him up on Wednesday since we were having a pool party at Mylissa's.  I was worried how the boys would get along since it's been a few years since they've spent this many days together.  But they picked up right where they left off and were best buddies.  They're still two peas in a pod.  Their personalities are still so similar.  They got along so well!!  On Thursday, we took Brody with us to the Bookmobil.  It stops on our street every couple of weeks.  We love getting a bag full of books.  Brody had never experienced a Bookmobil so he thought it was pretty cool.  I captured this picture of them.  I sent it to Belina and she laughed.
On Thursday afternoon, we went to the Fun Zone.  The boys played mini golf inside because it's so hot outside.  They did the go karts a couple of times.  They played video games and laser tag and then hit the batting cages a couple of times.

On Friday, I took the boys to the Jumping Zone.  They didn't have very good air conditioning so the boys were melting.  It wasn't very busy so that was nice because they got lots of jumping in.  After an hour, they were tired and hungry and ready to go home.

Friday night, I found Tanner, Brody and Bridger sitting on the couch reading one of the Bookmobil books.  It was so cute.  Brody and Bridger have been darling to Tanner and have been so sweet to include him.  Brody has been so easy to have with us.  I could keep him another week.  He's so easy going.  I love that Bridger and Brody have stayed friends.  I hope they can continue this friendship.

Not Again!!!!!

I was at Maddox with Bridger, Brody and Tanner when Chase called me.  I could tell from his voice that something was wrong.  He told me that he hurt his knee during the football scrimmage at BEHS. (It's football camp week and they've been having scrimmages with other schools).  He's worried because he heard a pop and his knee has swelled up really bad!   The next day, Matt called Chase's physical therapist at the hospital and told him the situation.  He squeezed him in during his lunch.  He said he couldn't say if his ACL was torn and the best bet is to do an MRI.  So we went over and talked to registration and they were able to fit him in.  We only had to wait 30 minutes.  After the MRI we went home and waited for the results.  Matt called me and started to cry on the phone.  He told me the devastating news that Chase's "new" ACL graft had ruptured and he'd torn his meniscus and strained his MCL.  I started to cry too.  I pulled myself together and then went and told Chase the devastating news.  He tried to stay so tough but he finally broke and started to cry.  It was one of the hardest things I've ever done.  It broke my heart to see the devastation on Chase's face.  Everything he's been looking forward to for 10 months and has worked so hard to achieve just disappeared.  Now his future playing sports is on hold once again.

Yard Work

In June, they came and finished the cement work.  We poured some extra cement to make the pad next to our garage a little bigger.  We put a few stairs on the path to the sports court.  Then we had they do the inside of the driveway to finish things off.  It turned out really nice!

Matt has been working so hard moving dirt and leveling things off.  His tractor has come in handy.

Layne came over with his Dad's digger and dug the hole for the trampoline.  It wasn't quite big enough so Matt and Chase had to go around and make it a little bigger.  Then they had to level the ground so the trampoline doesn't move around.  Putting in our yard is such an overwhelming project. Matt's doing a great job with it.

Bad News For Bridger

Around May 20, Bridger was slide tackled at school during recess playing soccer.  He kept complaining of his heel hurting.  When he tried to play soccer, he was limping so bad he couldn't play because it hurt so bad.  I took Bridger into a pediatrist and he said that his heel had a small fracture in it.  He put Bridger in a walk cast and said that it should be better in 2-4 weeks.

At 4 weeks, the doc said it was still broken and that the ends just weren't coming together.  So he wanted Bridger to come back in two more weeks.  At 6 weeks, he said it was still broken and said that we needed to put him in a hard cast to help it heal.  By now, I was really frustrated because he said it should be healed by now. I just had a bad feeling about it.  I had Matt talk to another podiatrist at work and get a second opinion.  We got into the other podiatrist a few days later.  He said they only way you can see if it's really broken is to take x-rays of both feet.  When you compared the x-rays, the feet looked the same.  In his opinion, Bridger's foot is not broken and it's the growth plate that the other doc thought was the fracture.  He feels like he has "severe's disease" which is an inflammation in the growth plate along the heel from the Achilles tendon pulling on it.  Keeping Bridger in a boot/cast only made it worse.  So, the cast is off.  He's starting physical therapy to help stretch his achilles tendon.  I'm furious with the first doc we went to!!  The second opinion doc said that you can charge insurance a lot more money for a heel fracture than an office visit.  Needless to say, we'll never go back to the first doc again!!!

Snowbasin with the A's

For Father's Day, Mike and Amy gave Ardell and Charlene tickets to Snowbasin to ride the gondola and ski lift.  They invited us to come.  Jake, Jess and Ella came at the last minute.  We decided to leave the kids at home and just enjoy the afternoon together.  Riding up the gondola and ski lift were beautiful. There were yellow wild flowers in bloom.  The cooler temperature up on top were so refreshing.  We ate lunch at the top of the gondola at the lodge.  The food was delicious!!  I had a hamburger that had caramelized onions with Bree cheese and bacon on it.  I've never eaten a burger that tasted so good!  Ardell and Charlene loved the experience!  It was a little hard getting them off and on the ski lifts but they took it slow and did great.

It was so fun to have Jake, Jess and Ella join us.  They are so fun to be around and Ella kept us laughing all afternoon.
I think this is such a great picture of Charlene, Mike and Ardell.  I love how I captured them laughing.

Our New Neighbor is Getting Big

Our new neighbor, Tilly is getting so big!  She's two months old.   Just a few weeks ago, she would only drink from her mom but now she's eating grass and loves it.  They shaved off her baby fur because it's really hot for her.  Her mane is still really soft.  She loves for us to pet her.  Lisa is training her to wear a harness and she doesn't like it. She loves us to scratch under it.  She's become very friendly!  We like to go over and visit at least once a week.  We bring the horses carrots or apples.  Lisa is so sweet to let us go into her barn and make ourselves at home.

On our way back home, I captured this picture of the sun setting in the background.  I think Matt and Tanner look so cute in their boots.  Of course Sophie is in the picture waiting for me to throw her ball.

Happy 4th of July

Maddie was in the K town parade for the 4th of July.  So we decided to support her and go watch the parade.  (Next year we'll be at Island Park).  Shan and Robby came too.  Rob and Maddie went at 5:00am the day before and put out chairs for all of us.  It was super HOT but the water fight at the end cooled the kids down.

Easton was a good sport and came to the parade with us.

The kids loved collecting candy.  One float threw necklaces at them.  So they each got about 5 necklaces.  There's a big tradition of a water fight after the parade.  The kids loved squirting other people and getting wet.

After the parade, everyone went back to Mylissa's house for a pool party!  Mom marinated some chicken and then Rob barbecued it.  It tasted really good.  We had lots of fruit and yummy salads.  Then the kids swam for a couple of hours.  Caleb found the mini "RV" at the store and talked Mylissa into getting it for Tanner.  Tanner was so happy with it!

Fun with Easton

Easton came up and stayed 5 days with us. He and Chase still get along so well.  I'm so happy they've stayed friends.  While he was here, we went to the Fun Zone.  Easton loves baseball so we hit the batting cages.  The go karts were close because it was "spitting rain" and the employees were lazy!
But they still had fun with laser tag and mini golf.  Tanner loves to play mini golf!!! We loved having Easton.  He's like a family member to us.  He's such a good kid!
