Chase Team Captain

Chase has been so dedicated to football even though he hasn’t been able to play.  He’s attended every practice unless he’s had a doctors appointment or physical therapy.  The second to the last game, one of his coaches asked him to be a team captain at the beginning of the game.  They lead the team out onto the field, lead the team in the warm up and stretches and then participate in the coin toss.  Normally three to four players are chosen and they rotated it so everyone on the team has a chance to be a team captain.  I figured with Chase being injured he wouldn’t have a chance.  But the coach said he’s still a big part of the team even if he can’t play.  That was really touching to me.  It’s been so hard for Chase to watch from the sidelines.  So I’m glad he felt part of the team.
