Happy Halloween

Tanner has been determined from the beginning to be Batman for Halloween.  We looked up costumes on Amazon and this is the one he picked.  He was so excited when it came in the mail.  He had to try it right on and wear it around the house.  He loves his "big muscles."

Matt was off and was able to come help at Bridger's Halloween party.  We played bingo with half of the class while the other half was outside playing kickball.  After the party, we stuck around for the school parade.  While we were waiting for it to begin, Tanner sat up on the stage and posed for us.
Bridger was a little worried about what to be for Halloween because some of the kids at school were mean about his costume from last year.  (Some kids are so mean!). Bridger decided to be a nurse anesthetist but no one really knows what that is so he told everyone he was a doctor.  We borrowed some scrubs and then he picked out one of Matt's work hats and wore my old stethoscope.  It was the easiest costume I've ever done.  Bridger was really happy with how it all came together.  He looked very official.

Living out in the "country" the community does a trunk or treat.  Everyone met at the church at 6:30 and went trick or treating.  People parked their cars all around the parking lot and then the kids walked around getting a lot of candy.  Most kids went around 3-4 times.  I thought I had plenty of candy (over 300 pieces) but at the last minute our home teacher dropped off a treat and asked us if we would take his extra candy.  He saved us because we ended up using all of our candy and his candy.  Bracken went treat or treating with the boys.  It was so fun to have him come along.  He's been such a good friend to Bridger.  We're so glad they moved out here.

Instead of having a car, one of the neighbors was in a carriage pulled by a little shetland pony.  Bridger and Tanner thought that it was so cute!  It cracked me up!  Chase at the last minute, invited a few friends over to hang out at the house.  Overall it was a great Halloween.  I still get homesick for Shantelle on Halloween night.  I miss the times that we used to hang out together on Halloween.

Bracken came back to our house and the boys counted out their candy.  They scored big time!  Bridger had over 130 pieces of candy.

Bridger's Fall Baseball

Bridger told his baseball coach that he wanted to try soccer in the fall.  At first we weren't going to do baseball but then coach Corey said he really wanted Bridger on his team and that he'll do a Monday night league so Bridger can still be on the team.  He said he was fine with Bridger not going to practices.  He just wanted him to come to the games.  Coach Corey has been an amazing coach.  He's so good with the boys.  We've come to love the boys on this team!  The league was in B C so it made it nice that it was relatively close.

Bridger had a good fall season.  He's getting really good at hitting.  He had one home run (because of some overthrow errors but we'll count it).  Bridger was the first one up to bat in the batting order.  It was a tough season because they only won one game.  We just can't get ahead.  Sometimes they play amazing and then other times it's like we're a brand new team.  But the boys are good kids and we love them and their families.

The first couple of weeks the games were really enjoyable.  But then it turned cold.  We would bundle up and drink hot chocolate to try to stay warm.

Fall Break

Sweet Kaye and Allan offered us their cabin again for fall break.  Shantelle had the whole week off so she and the girls came up on Monday.  Mom and Marilyn came up on Monday too.  We didn't get out of school until Wednesday so we came up Wednesday evening.  The W's were in California over fall break.  We really missed them.  BL is so beautiful and relaxing.  I brought my bike and went for a couple of bike rides.  There was one day that the weather was too cold.  I love my bike rides in BL!  The scenery is so beautiful.  We decided that we like BL better in the spring and the fall because it's too crowded in the summer.  We love waking up looking out over the beautiful lake.

On Saturday afternoon, we went down to the beach.  It was too cold to get in the water but we played at the park for a little bit and then went down to the water.  The kids had so much fun just playing at the park.  Life can be so simple sometimes.  It made me smile when all the kids were on the swings.

Tanner and Lilly loved playing in the bath tub together.  Hazel wanted to join the fun too.  They were the happiest kids just playing in the bath tub with a red cup.

I love this picture of Marilyn reading to Lilly and Tanner.  This is what the cabin is all about, making memories and being together.

We were feeling really sad that we hadn't seen a moose.  On Sunday morning, Shantelle was upstairs and started yelling "a moose! a moose!!!!"  We ran to the windows and the back porch and sure enough, there was a moose up on the hillside behind the cabin.  When we looked through the binoculars, we realized there was another moose just behind it laying down in the trees.  We were so happy that we finally saw a moose!!!

I found myself taking a million pictures because every time I looked out I thought "look at that view!"  The lake was so many different colors because we had a couple of storms go through.  BL is so beautiful! Kaye and Allan are so generous!  It's a piece of heaven up here.

One of our favorite things to do at the cabin is to play games.  We love sitting around the stable playing uno, tenzie, phase 10 or anything else we can play.  I love everyone's big smiles.

On Saturday, we had some deer come right up on the grass in the back yard.  We watched them out the back windows.  It was so fun to watch them eat and to be so close.

I love snuggle time at the cabin.  Mom and Marilyn left Saturday because they had church obligations.  The kids went out on Saturday and raked up some leaves.  I love this sweet picture of Lilly and Tanner right next to each other.  They're such good little buddies.

I wanted to stay up until Monday and just have the kids miss school but I had picked up a shift at work a couple of months ago not realizing it was fall break.  So we got up and cleaned the cabin really well on Sunday and then came home later that afternoon.  I think everyone had a great time because all three kids crashed on the way home.
