Chase's Soccer Season

Chase had a phenomenal soccer season.  It was his best season ever!  He was debating whether he should continue soccer.  Luckily his friends Kael and Porter convinced him to play.  He and Kael were the teams top scorers.  Chase scored 15 goals during the season.  Chase mostly played offense.  Occasionally if they were creaming a team, the coach would put him back on defense to give other kids a chance on offense.  He and Kael had great chemistry on the field.  They followed each other really well and just knew when to pass it to each other.  After practice, they would have "PK shoot outs" (penalty kicks).  It made me so happy to see Chase enjoying soccer again.

Coach had Chase do the majority of the corner kicks.  A couple of times he landed it into the goal!  He's got a strong kick.  His coaches, Coach Shaw and Coach Curtis, did a great job with the team.  They had practice 2-3 times a week with a game on Saturdays or Mondays.  The coaches tried really hard to bond the team.  They had a spaghetti dinner one night.  They were always so positive with the boys.

I lucked out and captured a picture of Chase scoring a goal!!!!!

What a great looking group of soccer boys!  Chase's team was called "the Blaze."  Chase is on the bottom row, third in from the left.  There was another kid on the team with red hair so it would throw me off trying to find Chase on the field.

Chase has never scored a hat trick (3 goals).  So Matt and I joked that we would pay Chase $100 if he scored a hat trick.  (We never thought he would get it).  He surprised us and scored a hat trick!!  So we had to fork out the bucks and pay up.  But it was worth it to see his smile.  After that we added some clarification and said that it was a one time payment.
Chase's team came in first in their division.  They went undefeated the entire season!
Tanner and Bridger were good cheer leaders for Chase.
