Chase's Friend Birthday Party

It was Chase's year to have a friend birthday party.  He chose to go to a fun place where they have lots of trampolines, and foam pits.  There was a rock wall, and a trapeze that you could fall into the foam pit.  There was basketball trampolines.  The boys had an hour and a half to play.  I was worried that it wasn't going to be enough time but they were worn out by the end of our time.

Chase has so many friends that it was hard to narrow the list down.  He ended up inviting 10 of his closest friends.  Most of their were from the neighborhood.  It was so much fun watching the boys be crazy!!!

After our jumping time, we went into the party room and had pizza.  (Matt ran and picked up some pizza while the kids were jumping.)  I made my favorite yellow cake on Sunday and Chase tried it and decided that he likes cake!  So of course Bridger tried it too and said "wow! this is really good!"  I know!!!  We've been trying to get you to eat cake for years.  So Chase requested that yellow cake for his party.  I can't believe that he's turning 10!  His friends gave him great gifts.  They totally spoiled him!  He was very happy because he got lots of sports stuff.

Chase's Family Birthday Party

Even though Chase had a "friend" birthday party, he still wanted to have a little "family" party.  He made me feel guilty that we would be traveling all day on his birthday.  So he talked us into going bowling to celebrate.  Grandpa and Grandma R came down and the C's came too.  We love to go bowling as a family!  We had a crazy time together!!!!

After bowling, everyone was hungry so Chase chose JCW's for dinner.  That seems to be a family favorite.  I was taking pictures of the kids and then I handed my phone to Shan to take a picture of mom and dad and her and Robby.  I didn't look at the pictures afterwards.  A few days later Shan asked me if I had looked at the pictures.  So of course I pulled them up and saw the silly picture Shan took.  She always makes me laugh!!!!

Grandpa and Grandma R. gave Chase a really cool Lego Batman set.  Chase and Bridger are very lucky boys because both grandparents have given them some spending money for our trip.  They want to find soccer jerseys.

Happy Early Birthday Matt!

Matt has been asking for awhile and finally got a new laptop for his birthday.  Mylissa found a really good deal online so we just copied her.  I love it how she researches everything and then I just copy her research.  It makes it really easy for us.  Matt got the mac book pro.  He stuck with Mac because he is a die hard mac lover.  He ordered it before our cruise and was hoping that it would come before.  It arrived a few days before we left.  I was tempted to hide it and save it for his birthday.  But then he was getting all worried that it was lost in the mail so I had to give it to him early.  It worked out better that way because he was able to set it up and use it on our trip.  He is very happy with his new laptop.  Look at that BIG smile! Happy early birthday Matt.

Skiing at Brighton

A friend of mine had a discount pass to Brighton so I decided to take the boys to Brighton.  Matt had to work but I figured I need to get one more day of skiing in because it might be our last chance this season.  There had been a little storm the night before so there was four fresh inches of snow.  It made it a little harder for Bridger to turn in the powder but he still did great.  They have improved so much this season!!!  They can go down any blue and buzz down greens.  I thought it was going to be a little warmer than it was but it seemed like the clouds just stayed on top of us all day long.  The boys were such good sports!!!  We just bundle up and wear lots of layers.  Thank heavens for hand and feet warmers!!!

I knew that the canyon was really curvy so I gave Bridger some Dramamine.  He almost made it without throwing up.  As we were pulling in the parking lot, he threw up.  Normally he's really good about making into the bag but today it wasn't so good.  So there was throw up all down the front of him.  Luckily he had on three layers so we just took one of the layers off.  He perked up after that but a few hours later we were on the lift and he said "I think I'm going to be sick!"  I was just hoping that he could hold it until we got off.  Luckily he did and as soon as we got off, we went over by the trees and he fed the squirrels.  So then we skied down to the car and ate our lunches.  Once again he perked up but then around 3:00 he said that he was getting sick so we called it a day.  Poor guy!  He slept the whole way home.  I miss those days when dad would drive and we could sleep all the way home.

Chase's Bear Award

Chase has been working really hard in scouts.  He earned his Religious Square Knot.  He also has completed his Bear requirements.  It's been so fun to be Chase's Bear leader.  I've learned so much with scouts.  It's been great to do the achievements with Chase.  When he was presented with his Bear award, the cub master told a cute story about a little boy that started to grow hair and turned into a bear as he worked on his bear award.  She gave each of the boys earning their bears a mustache.  I'm so proud of Chase for setting goals and achieving them.

Chase's First "Real Tie"

Chase has wanted to learn how to tie a "real tie" for the last year.  All he's had are clip on ties. He told me that those are baby ties and he wanted a real tie.  So he's finally outgrown his baptism suit, now that it's two years old.  I finally went to the store and bought him some new church clothes.  I also got him a real tie.  He was SO excited!!!  Chase was worried about Matt being gone on Sundays and knowing how to tie his new tie.  So Saturday night, Matt taught Chase how to tie a real tie.  It was a sweet moment.  Chase is doing a great job learning how to tie.  He looks so handsome!
