Bridger Student Council & Song Program

Bridger has enjoyed being on student council.  Every Wednesday morning he goes an hour early for their meeting.  He's in charge of certain activities during recess like "fuel up" where they play games or sometimes they have to monitor the hall and recess.  His last project was to make a poster on "perseverance" to display in the halls.  Bridger is on the bottom row, second picture on the right hand side.

Bridger and Wylee
On Friday, the 5th graders had their Utah history music program.  Mom stayed till Friday to take care of me and so she could see Bridger's program.  Matt was off too so he came and Tanner came too.   I didn't know if I would be able to go to his program but I timed my pain medicine right before the program and I brought a pillow to sit on.  The program was about an hour.  I'm so glad I went to the program!  Bridger knew all of the songs so well.  He sang his heart out!

Chase's 15th Birthday

We celebrated his birthday on Saturday before his birthday.  We went to see the movie "Black Panther.  After the movie, we went to dinner at Maddox. I came home from the hospital from having my hysterectomy on Chase's birthday.  (I had the surgery on Monday).  I was worried that it would put a damper on Chase's birthday but he was so sweet about it.   I made his cake during the weekend before my surgery.  He wanted an Oreo ice cream cake.  Grandma R stayed over for a few days to help me.  She asked Chase what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he requested a spaghetti dinner.  She made a fabulous dinner for Chase.  Chase opened his presents after dinner.  He was really excited when he opened a nice, expensive basketball.  He got some sunglasses and some exercise clothes and a swimming suit.   Bridger gave Chase a new "draw string" bag.   Tanner gave Chase a tied dyed t-shirt.

Tanner loved Chase's ice cream cake.  He licked the plate when it was all gone.

Sweet Grandpa R

I had a work meeting to go to so I asked Mom and Dad to watch Tanner.  While I was at work, Mom texted me this picture of Dad playing cars with Tanner. It's the car mat that I used to play with with I was a little kid.  Mom made it for us when we were really little.  I love Tanner's big smile.

Handsome Boys!

For Chase's birthday, he wanted to continue the tradition and have Grandpa and Grandma R buy him some church clothes.  They bought him a really nice pair of black/grey church pants.  They also picked out a good looking blue shirt and tie for Bridger.  And then Tanner was determined to find a red tie.  We found a red shirt and tie for $6!!  Bridger wore Chase's gray suit that he got when he turned 12.  It fits him perfectly!  The boys look so handsome in their church clothes.  I promised Mom that I would send them pictures of the boys.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  The leprechauns came and visited us during the night.  They turned our toilet water green and one of our milks green!  They also left gold coins scattered throughout the house along with green candy.  When Tanner woke up, he went downstairs and found Chase playing the xbox.  He said "Chase! There's candy everywhere!!!"  Once everyone was awake, the boys went around finding the candy.  The sneaky leprechauns hid the coins and green candy.  The boys had a fun time finding the candy.

The leprechauns were very generous and left three of every candy so each of the boys had one.  I think they have enough candy for the next few months.

After they collected the candy, they divided it up.  Then the trading began.

Tanner's Spring Art

Tanner loves preschool.  Every day he does something fun.  He loves it when they do art projects.  He made a "rainbow fish."  They read the book "Rainbow fish" and talked about sharing.  Then the next week, they went on a safari.  They learned about safari animals.  He made a lion.  I told him that I wanted to take his picture with his art projects.  Tanner said that he wanted Sophie in the picture with him.  I love the picture of Tanner holding the fish with Sophie next to him.

Sweet Grandma Taylor

Mom found this picture.  At first I thought it was Mylissa with Grandma Taylor.  But mom told me that it's me sitting on Grandma Taylor's lap.  I don't remember my hair being so blond.  I don't have a lot of pictures with Grandma Taylor so I was so happy to see this one.  What a treasure!

We're finally skiing!

We lucked out with a Saturday that didn't have any plans.  So I decided to seize the day and take Bridger skiing.  Bridger has the "fifth grade ski pass" which gives him three free ski days at every ski resort in the state.  Chase was sweet to stay home and babysit since he can't go skiing this season because of his knee.  We haven't had the best snow season but in the last couple of weeks, we've finally have gotten some snow.  Any day skiing is better than not skiing.  But the snow wasn't the best.  It was icy in the morning and then cream of wheat by the afternoon.  But we still had a great time!  I loved having the one on one time with Bridger!!  He's been really sad about not making the basketball team and his knees.  So it was nice to build him up and just give him a chance to talk.

I was worried that it was going to be really busy because it was a Saturday, and there were a couple of major events happening at the ski resort.  But it wasn't bad.  The resort is so big that it can handle the crowds.  Plus they have really wide trails.  Bridger is really turning into a great skier.  He can handle any blue.  Most blues, he breezes down them.  He's right on my heels.  We couldn't have asked for better weather.  At lunch, we took off most of our layers because we were sweating.  I love going skiing with the boys.  It reminds me of the great times we had skiing with Dad when I was growing up.  I'm grateful that Matt does such a good job of providing for us that we can afford to go skiing.

I love this picture of Bridger.  I love his rosy cheeks.
