Happy President's Day!

Bridger has learned all about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington in school the past couple of weeks.  He learned about George Washington's 3 corner hat.  He was able to make one too.  Then he colored a picture of Abraham Lincoln.  He was so excited to show it to me.  He asked me "Do you know why he has a big frowny face?"  I asked "why?"  He said "it's because Abraham Lincoln was sad that there were slaves!"  It was so sweet!
The boys were able to wear mustaches to school for a non-bullying day.  The theme was "we mustache (must ask) you to be nice to others."  Something like that.  So the night before, we practiced what kind of facial hair they wanted.  I had to work so I was a little bit worried about passing it off to Matt, but you can see that he exceeded my expectations.  The boys look so manly!  He sent me this picture at work.  I laughed out loud!

We've had something wonderful happen at our house......the boys finally eat cereal with milk!!!!! Yea!! We were at the store and I said that they had to pick out a cereal that they would eat with milk because I'd had enough!  I'm sick of fixing them hot chocolate every morning.  They can mix things up a little bit.  They can be like other kids and eat cereal!  So Bridger picked out cocoa puffs and Chase chose Trix.  I didn't care that they were both sugar cereals.  I'm looking at it as baby steps.  The next morning they both ate their cereals with milk!!!!  I texted Matt this picture and told him about our momentous morning!!!

President's Weekend

Sweet Kaye and Allan invited us to their cabin over President's weekend.  Matt had a busy church day and had to work on the holiday so he couldn't come.  Marilyn drove up with me and the boys Friday night.  Shantelle, and Robby, and Mom and Dad came up late Friday night.  Shan and Robby left Sunday afternoon and Kaye and Allan came up a little after Shantelle had left.  I was wonderful to spend some time with Kaye and Allan.  They were so sweet and said we could bring our silly dog Sophie with us.

The boys had a ball playing in the snow.  It was the most sledding they've done all year.  Everyday they would go out and play in the snow.  There is a great trail that starts above Kaye's cabin and then comes out and ends in the front of her cabin.  The first day, a nice neighbor pulled the boys behind his four wheeler to the top of the trail.  So then the next day, the boys asked Grandpa to take them.  So sweet Dad would hang out in his car and drive the boys up.  They loved it!!!  Sophie loved playing in the snow too!  It was so deep.  He had to jump or swim through the snow.  I brought up my snow shoes.  Chase wanted to come with me so he borrowed some that Allan had.  We went out for an hour just going around the cabin.  The snow was so deep that even with the snow shoes we would sink to our knees or thighs.  But it was so fun to go with Chase.  The weather was beautiful!!!

When the boys were worn out from the sledding, they would play the wii.  Our favorite game to play was Just Dance.  Even Shantelle and Aliyah played!  Saturday night Robby was getting Aliyah ready for bed.  He came down in his big boy feet pajamas.  We laughed so hard.  (His mom made them.) Feet pjs look so cute on little kids, but on big people, they just loo funny!  One of my favorite moments was looking over and seeing Mom reading with the boys.  The boys were snuggled up next to her.  They took turns reading and they would read in silly voices.  I love going to Kaye's cabin.  It's so relaxing!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I lucked out this year because both boys made their valentine's boxes at school.  Chase chose NBA basketball valentines and Bridger chose ninja turtles valentines.  They put laffy taffy candy with their valentines.  Bridger came with me to the toy store a week before Valentine's day.  He feel in love with the new playmobil puppy sets.  He wanted one SO bad so I told him I would get him one but he had to wait to open it until Valentine's day.  He then convinced me to pick out a set for Chase, Dad and me.  I was a sucker because I couldn't resist his sweet face!  He pinkey promised me that he wouldn't tell anyone about the presents.  Every morning he would come in and count down how many more days until Valentine's day.  He was so excited to open the puppy sets.

The boys and Matt needed new crocs so I surprised them and bought them crocs for Valentine's day.  Chase was a little confused to open up one green one and one blue one.  I didn't know which size to get  so I had him try them both on.  The navy blue ones fit so he and Matt are twiners.  Chase's foot is growing so fast.  I'm having a hard time keeping him in shoes.  Bridger got the bright green ones.  We're the croc family!!!! Now they'll have summer shoes for the cruise.

Bridger is Star of the Week

Bridger was the Star Student in his class the week of February 4th-8th.  We had so much fun picking out some pictures to put on his poster.  I love what a happy boy Bridger is.  He loves life to the fullest!  There is a picture of him jumping on the trampoline with all of his "friends" (stuffed animals), playing soccer, skiing, wearing his Incredible Hulk gloves, riding the four wheeler, playing in water, being at Disneyland and just silly photos of our family being together.  The stars tell a little bit more about Bridger.  He said his favorite colors were blue, orange, and yellow.  Another star says "my favorite thing about school is learning how to read, and recess."  Bridger said that he really likes to go skiing, play at the park with my friends, play with my dog Sophie and go to Disneyland.  My favorite response of Bridger's was from this stars statement:  "Something I like about myself is I am funny.  i am also a really good friend."  One of his friends was being called some mean names and Bridger stood up for his friend and told the other kid to stop calling his friend that name because that's being a bully.  His teacher really notices what a good friend Bridger is to others.  For his treat, he brought chocolate chip cookies because that's one of his favorite treats.  He also celebrated his 100th day of kindergarten during his start week.

Let's Go Skiing!

So last October I found us a killer deal on used skis so we bought skis for the entire family.  Chase even agreed to try skiing for a season.  On January 2, Chase had his first ski lesson.  Unfortunately Matt had to work. I was debating if we should go because it was 5 degrees when we woke up.  But we bundled up wearing about 4 layers and took on the challenge.  It was the boys last day of their winter break so we took advantage of the last day and went to Sundance.  It was comical because as I was getting the boys all geared up, I realized that I had left my ski pants at home.  With it being so cold, I broke down and bought me the cheapest pants that they had.  Bridger and I went skiing while Chase had his 2.5 hour lesson.  That was all it took because he was up and skiing by the end of the lesson.  He picked up skiing really quickly.  He did great on his turns.  Bridger was so sweet to offer him advice.

My favorite part of the day was eating lunch in the car.  By the afternoon, the temperature was around 12 degrees so it was still freezing.  So we turned on the car while we were eating.  We blasted the heat and turned on the seat warmers.  The boys snuggled in the front seat.  They wanted to listen to "One Direction" while we ate so we jammed out to their new cd.  It was one of those moments that I wanted to capture in time forever.  It was just so simple but full of fun!

The next time we went skiing (Jan 12), we convinced Matt to come.  We used his work's skiing passes so we only had to pay for the boys.  Chase had a soccer practice in the morning so as soon as he was done, we headed up to Sundance for a half a day of skiing.  It was still really cold but at least the temperature made it to 20.  Matt was so impressed with how much the boys have learned.  He couldn't believe what great skiers they are!  It was so fun going together as a family.

We decided to celebrate Ground Hogs day by going skiing.  Matt was stuck at work and we didn't have anything going on so I decided to take the boys for a half a day.  The day before a big snow storm had come in so the snow was great!!!!  Half way through the day, we ran into the M boys.  The boys had actually just played with them the night before so it was funny to run into them on the mountain.  We ended up skiing the rest of the day together.  The boys were thrilled to be skiing with their best friends!

One of the boy's favorite trails is "outlaw."  There are fun little things to ski under and around.  Bridger loves to ski through the trees.  This picture is of the boys with their friends.  Cutter is on the left, Chase, Bridger, Breaker then Raeder.  I originally recognized them because of Raeder's bright orange helmet.  He had worn it last night when they went sledding.
