Chase's 16th Birthday

I wanted to do a party for Chase and have him invite some friends over.  But Chase was adamant that he didn't want to do that.  I wanted to make him feel special and make this birthday a big deal.  But Chase shot down every idea that I suggested.  So everything seemed anticlimactic.  But Chase said he was happy with what we did.  I was hoping that he would want to go on an official date but he said "people don't do that up here."  How silly!!!
Chase had a soccer game on the night of his birthday.  So we celebrated on Saturday.  He chose to go to Maddox for his birthday dinner.  We made a reservation so we didn't have to wait too long.  Their food is always so good!!  Everyone enjoyed their lunch. Everyone but Tanner got a steak.  (Bridger got the kids meal steak bites). Tanner was happy just eating the rolls.  Chase especially liked his birthday lunch.

After lunch, we went over to the movie theater and watched the new movie "Captain Marvel."  It was really entertaining.  I was worried it was going to be to violent for Tanner but he loved it.

Then we came home and had Chase open his presents and eat cake and ice cream.  Chase got lots of clothes.  I bought him six different swimming suits because I didn't know what style or size to get.  So I bought a bunch online.  Chase chose two and we sent the rest back.  He also got some cologne.

Chase requested a mint Oreo chocolate chip ice cream cake.  I love how Tanner always likes to be in the pictures.

We celebrated March/April birthdays with the R's.  So Chase and Matt got to celebrate their birthday again.

Bridger's Medieval Report

Bridger has been working so hard on his medieval unit.  He did the max amount of points possible so he could be a kind at their medieval festival.  He did this amazing fold out folder about the medieval town.  Then he made an ABC medieval book.  I had him show his projects to Grandma.  Grandma loved talking to Bridger about his medieval unit.  It brought back good memories for Grandma.

The Sunday before his medieval festival, we were at Grandma R's for dinner.  Luckily we were able to go through her costume box and come up with a costume.   He was excited to be one of the kings.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The leprechauns found us again!  They weren't too naughty.  They did drink our milk which turned it green and they used our toilets because the water was green.  They left a grundle of green treats and coins all around the house upstairs.  It was a little unfair because we had to go to church before we could find the treats.  The minute we got home, the boys ran throughout the upstairs looking for coins and green goodies.

Tanner made a cute leprechaun picture at school.

Shantelle's Birthday

To celebrate Shantelle's birthday, we met at Mom's house and ordered Greek Food.  Then Shantelle, Mylissa and I went and got pedicures while Marilyn, Mom and Dad babysat Tanner and Hazel.  We had a great time getting our pedicures.  It was a nice break.  Shantelle loves her birthdays so hopefully she knows how much we love her.  I'm so grateful for the close relationships I have with my sisters!  They are my best friends.

No School!

We had a "no school" day on Monday because it was the end of the second trimester.  It just happened that Shantelle's girls were out of school too.  I feel in a slump and wanted to do something fun.  So I called her Sunday night and said "let's play!"  The next morning, I drove down to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  Shantelle and the girls met us.  Because of her pass, our admission was half off so it saved me a lot of money.

Tanner has been studying dinosaurs in preschool so he was so excited to go to the Dinosaur Museum. The kids had a great time.  We spent a couple of hours exploring the museum.  Then we ate our sack lunches upstairs.  I still had a couple of hours so we took the kids over to the Curiosity Museum.  We had so much fun!!!!  The kids loved being together.  I was so glad that we drove down and spent most of the day with Shan and the girls.  We wanted to get a little treat before we headed back home so we stopped by JCW's and got fries and shakes.  Chase wasn't able to join us because he had a soccer game that evening.  I was rushing back to get to his game.  Luckily varsity was playing first so I was able to watch his game.

I have missed living by Shantelle so much! A part of my heart will always be sad that we don't live by each other.  Spending the day with her and the girls was so therapeutic.  She is so fun to be around.
