Bridger's iPad Mini

After saving his money for three years, Bridger finally had enough money to buy an iPad mini!!!  He's been so diligent in saving his money.  We watched the sales over Black Friday and found the best deal.  He picked out a space grey color with the black screen.  He was so happy the day it arrived!  ( I love how Tanner has to be in the picture)s

Bridger's Fall Basketball

Bridger played on a competitive early winter basketball league.  Bridger loves to play point guard.  He's really good at dribbling and has improved a lot on his shot.  His knee problems have really acted up so he couldn't play the last three weeks of the season per his physical therapist.  He's been doing physical therapy twice a week to try to strengthen his leg muscles to try to help take some pressure off of the patellar tendon.  His coach, Matt M has been so understanding about it.  He's planning on doing a harder league in January so he wants Bridger to rest up so he can play in that league.

Chase's Football Award

At the end of the football season, they did a football dinner for the players, coaches and their families.  It was mostly for the high school kids and seniors but they did recognize the freshman team for being region champions.  At the end they awarded every kid that endured the season a "team member award."  I was really happy that they gave one to Chase.  Even though he didn't play the entire season (two and half games), he still went to every game and practice that he physically could.  He's been so devoted to it.  I was really impressed with the coaches and the love they have for the boys.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Shantelle sent us this picture in a text.  Lilly made it at school.  Shantelle asked her why the girl is frowning and Lilly said "it's because she has to fix all the food."  How true is that!!!!
It was our turn to be with the Adams' for Thanksgiving.  I didn't want Charlene to have to worry about it so we invited everyone up to our house.  Everyone was there except Mike and Amy and their kids.  (We're on the off schedule).  Chase wanted to use our china and I thought, if I don't use it for Thanksgiving then when will it be a better time?  So Chase and Bridger set the table with our fancy china, glasses and silverware.  Marilyn had given me a few fall table clothes just a couple of weeks ago so I even had nice tablecloths.  The table looked beautiful!

We had quite the feast.  We provided the turkey, potatoes, roll, jam, jello salad and green beans.  Matt and the boys pealed and cut all of the potatoes.  They did 25 pounds!!  Charlene brought her delicious stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and mashed yams.  She learned that Matt loves Kip's recipe so she followed Kip's recipe.  They tasted just like Kip's.  Everything tasted so wonderful!  Matt was so sweet to help with all of the dishes.  The boys were good to clear the table.  Once we were done cleaning up, Charlene told the kids the story of "Tom the Turkey."  Then we played Turkey BINGO.

Everyone loved playing turkey bingo.  There were lots of fun prizes.  Around 8:00, people started headed home. It was a great day being together as a family.  We have been blessed with so much.  One of our greatest blessings is family!!!

No More Curls

I was at work, so Matt took Bridger and Tanner to their hair cut appointment.  He said that it was time for Tanner to have a big boy haircut.  So he had Sherri cut off all of the curls.  He looks so different with his big boy haircut.  He looks so grown up.  Bridger also got his hair cut.  His hair grows so fast and is so thick.  He has beautiful hair!

Three Times in a Row!

Bridger had a lot of pressure this year with the turkey trot because he’s won it the last two years.  A few kids at school were talking trash so Bridger was getting really anxious about the race.  I told him to just go out there and do his best.  I had to work so Matt and Tanner went to the race.  Bridger was amazing and came in first again!!!!  Three years in a row!  (ever since we've moved to this school). The kid that came in second told Bridger that he was right behind him and almost beat him last year.  He wasn't, he was back a few seconds.  So this year, it was the same kid behind him but Bridger wanted that kid to know there was a big difference so he purposely pushed harder at the very end so there was a bigger gap.  Matt sent me the video at work. It's so sweet to hear Matt and Tanner cheering Bridger on.  I was so proud of Bridger I started to cry.  I knew how bad he wanted it and I knew how disappointed he would be.  I love his big smile!!!

This year, they gave out a gift certificate for an actual turkey (last year he won a 2 L soda).  Bridger was very excited that he won a turkey.  So Matt and Bridger went to the store and applied his gift certificate towards a ginormous turkey.  We used it for our Thanksgiving dinner.

New Furniture

We left a little in our budget for new furniture becasaue we finally gave away our leather couches that we’ve had for 16 years.  They were falling apart and were being held together by wood on the bottom.  After shopping’s around, I finally decided on a custom couch by Craft Master.  I had a designer at GV helped me pick out the couch fabric.  I was really sick of leather and couldn’t find a leather couch that I liked.  So I bit the bullet and did a fabric couch.  The furniture shop in town (D’s F) best the price at GV so I went with them.  When the couch was delivered, I was a little discouraged because the couch was so much bigger than I thought.  The dimensions that the couch company gave were based on measuring the pillows, not the very back of the couch.  Because it.s costum, I’m stuck with it for the next 15 years.  After a few weeks, I’ve grown to really like it.  I like the fabric and the couches is softening up.  It was really stiff at first.  We waitied 7 weeks for the couch to come.  There was a misunderstanding with the furniture company because they only ordered one.  So they put rush order on the second one and had it delivered about a month later.

I fell in love with the fabric for the chairs.  It’s a little crazy so I was worried about how it would turn out but I love it. They add some pizazz to the front room.  I wanted a comfortable recliner chair that was not a teddy bear chair.  I was so happy when I found these chairs.  I ordered them through GV.  I love the look of them plus they’re super comfy and recline.

Nap Time

I needed Tanner to take a nap and he was fighting me.  Sweet Bridger said “I’ll go snuggle with him.”  A few minutes later, I came in and found them both sound asleep snuggling in Tanners twin bed.

Wonderful Visit

Kip’s Dad, Larry was in town.  They wanted to come up and see us amen our new house.  They arrived around 11:45.  When she got out of the car, she gave me a big hug and we both startd to cry.  I gave them a tour of our house.  They were so complimentary of everything.  Sweet Kip brought me a couple of “Le Cruset” items for my new kitchen for a house warming gift.  Kip is always so thoughtful.  We went and ate lunch at the hostlital because we were hoping Matt and Michael would get a break and be able to see us.  (Layne and Tiff were in Hawaii).  It worked out perfectly because Matt was able to eat with us.  After lunch, we came back to our house and visited.  The kids were getting out of school so they stopped by so they could give Kip a hug (we were missing Nicholas and Jen’s older two kids). Thomas was staying with us so he rode the bus home with Bridger.  Hailee and Katie even stopped by.  I loved sitting around talking and catching up on everything.  Kip is such a wonderful person.  She has one of the most loving hearts and always sees the good in people.  I have missed her so much.

Matt's New X phone

Matt has been counting down the days until the new iPhone is released.  He stayed up one night and ordered it at 12:01am so he could be at the top of the list.  It arrived while he was in Chicago so we kept teasing him that we were going to open it.  He kept tracking it and letting me know where it was so I would be home to sign for it.  When Matt came home Sunday night, it was the first thing he did.  He's so happy with the "X" iPhone.  He loves his gadgets.

Lindsay's Baptism

Lindsay was the last one of Bud's kids to get baptized.  She looked so beautiful in her white dress.  Bud and Jill had a nice luncheon at their house after with lots of pizza and yummy desserts.  We're so happy for Lindsay.

Chase's Choir Concert

Chase registered for the all boys choir.  He's been in this class for the first trimester.  Chase doesn't normally sing so I was really glad he took this class.  It's been a relaxing and enjoyable class for Chase so it's been good.  They sang three songs.

Chase is such a handsome young man.  He needed to wear a red tie so he borrowed one from Matt's closet.  Matt was in Chicago on a AANA conference so he wasn't able to be there.  At first we were thinking about going to Chicago as a family but then Chase had his accident with his knee and it would be too hard to walk around Chicago.  And then he had a choir concert so it would have killed his grade to miss the concert.  So poor Matt went alone while I took care of the home front.
