Let the Baseball Season Begin!

Spring is officially here because Bridger's baseball season has begun.  Luckily, we were able to find a baseball team for Bridger.  Coach Corey was starting up a new team and he let Bridger be on it.  It's a team that doesn't have a lot of experience but a lot of potential so eventually it will come together.  We're super excited because it's a group of really nice boys and they get along really well.  It's a combination of 2nd and 3rd graders.  There's three coaches, Coach Corey, Wes, and Jody.  They're awesome men who are great with the boys.  I couldn't be more pleased with the coaches.  They want the boys to get experience playing all of the positions which I really like.  We've had Bridger taking some baseball classes during the winter and spring but he still needs a little extra so we have him and his friend Bracken taking a few private lessons with Coach Josh.  (He's a guy in our neighborhood that eats, sleeps and dream baseball)  He's really great at baseball and has really helped Bridger!  Bridger is getting more confidence at hitting the ball.  At the first of the season, he was really struggling with hitting and looked scared to death.  But Josh has really helped him and most of the time he's getting hits!

I love this sweet picture of Bridger and Tanner.  I thought it was so sweet how Bridger knelt down so he could be right next to Tanner.  While I was getting things ready to go, Tanner found one of Bridger's baseball hats and came into the room wearing it backwards and holding a ball.  He was all ready to go.  It cracked me up!!!  He's such hoot!

The Life of a Dog

This picture cracks me up because out of all of the places in our house, Sophie likes to sleep on the stairs.  I don't even know how she fits on them but for some crazy reason she finds it comfortable.  When I go up and down the stairs she won't move unless you tell her to.  She's fine with you climbing over her.  She's such a silly dog.

Chase's 13th Birthday

Besides a phone, the only thing Chase wanted for his birthday was clothes.  He's getting to the point that I can't pick out his clothes.  Instead of doing something fun like a jumping place, Chase wanted to go shopping at FS.  He wanted to hit some teenager stores.  He's looking for some new shoes and some summer clothes.  We had bought him a few t-shirts and then he got really sick.  His stomach was really hurting!  He was so sick that he didn't want to shop anymore so we went back to Grandma R's house.  I went to the Women's Conference broadcast with mom, Mylissa, Maddie, Julie and Rob.  At first Matt was really worried and thought it was his appendix but luckily he settled down with some ibuprofen and started to feel a little better.  It was a big bummer for Chase because he finally gets to go shopping and then gets sick!  Luckily later in the week we ordered him some new shoes online so he did get a few new things.

On Sunday, we went down for dinner at the A's.  Amy and Mike and most of their kids came to celebrate too.  It was a fun party!  They played baseball and football out back.  That is their favorite thing to do!  Mike and Jake are so sweet to play with them.  Our boys just can't get enough of it.  Chase was really happy with all of the birthday money he received!  Everyone was so generous!!!

Chase received a BIG surprise for his birthday.  He said that he wanted an iPhone for his birthday but Matt and I said that he had to wait until he's 14.  But then a couple of months ago, his iPod touch was stolen and then we got a $200 credit for a phone so we gave in and bought him the newest iPhone!!  But we told Chase that he was dreaming if he thought he was going to get a phone.  I wrapped the phone in the middle of a camping pillow so at first he thought it was a stupid camping pillow but then he saw the phone and he was ecstatic!!!  I think it's the biggest smile he's ever had!!  At first he thought that it was a joke and he looked really confused, but then we told him it was really an iPhone.  It was a great moment because he was so happy!!!  We got him the silver phone and he said that's the one he would have picked out.  We also got him a clear case to protect the phone.

(Chase is wearing one of his new shirts from Tilly's).

Matt helped Chase set up the phone and then the first person Chase called was his cousin Maddie.  It was really sweet! Chase also got a new radio with an extra charger battery in it.

To celebrate Chase's birthday, we went to the new Disney movie "Zootopia."  It was a really cute movie and the whole family enjoyed it!  Afterwards we went and had dinner at Costa Vida.

Then we came back home and had some birthday cake.  Chase requested chocolate cake.  I love Tanner's "cheeser" smile!

As you can tell from the pictures, Tanner LOVED the cake!!  When I tucked Chase in bed he said that it was the best birthday he's ever had!  Then I told him it probably would be the best birthday because don't expect to get a new phone every year!  He was so sweet and surprised about it so it made it all worth it!

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny came and visited us on Saturday morning, the day before Easter.  He hid some jelly beans around the formal sitting room and then left some fun things in the  boys' baskets.  Tanner really liked looking for the jelly beans.  Tanner got some Mickey Mouse wood magnets, Bridger and Chase got a couple of t-shirts and then as a family we got the Peanuts Movie.  Tanner also liked eating peeps!

After church on Easter Sunday, we went down to Mom and Dad's for dinner.  It was their wedding anniversary so we celebrated their anniversary and Easter.  (We had a nice Easter dinner with the Adams' the previous week.)  Mom and Dad had a grundle of Easter candy and eggs.  Michael went out and hid all of the Easter eggs and then the kids went out and went on an egg hunt.  It was so cute to watch the little kids find the eggs.  They would get so excited!

That's a lot of candy!  Mom and Dad bought a lot of peeps and didn't want to eat them so between what the Easter bunny brought us and what we got at mom's, we had a ton of peeps! Mom found some yummy flavors like birthday cake, and watermelon so the kids were excited to try them.  Matt said "you can never have too many peeps."

Happy anniversary to Mom and Dad!  I'm so lucky to have such great parents.  They are amazing people who love to serve others, and especially their family.  They do so much for us!

For dessert, we had a big Costco white cake with vanilla pudding.  We celebrated Shans, Maddie's, Chase and Matt's birthdays.

Tanner decided it was too hard to eat his cake with a spoon so he just dove in and ate it with his mouth (no hands).
