Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was with the R's.  We call it the Taylor Thanksgiving because it's everyone from mom's side of the family.  It's always been at Marilyn's house.  When we got there, just Kaye, Allan and Janica were there.  While I was helping Marilyn, Tanner became fussy and was hungry.  So Kaye was so sweet and said she would love to feed Tanner.  What a picture to cherish of Kaye holding Tanner!  We tried to divide up the food but mom still brought a ton!  There was ham, turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, cheese dips, relish trays, jello salads, stuffed mushrooms, stuffing, spinach salad, monkey bread and at least 12 pies!!!!  No one walked away hungry.  Katie and her husband Cameron came in town for Thanksgiving and it was fun to have Andrew home from his mission.

While we were cleaning up the kitchen and doing all the dishes, we had the kids and some adults go out and pick up all the apples on the ground.  Andrew was actually excited to rake leaves because he didn't have to do that in Arizona on his mission.  They were such good helpers and Marilyn was so grateful for their help.  Then they went out on the big field and played football with Andrew.  My boys loved tackling Andrew.  He's such a good sport.  Maddy was awesome to help with Lily.

Tanner's First Feeding!!!!

At my baby shower, a group of friends went in and bought me a really nice high chair.  We've kept it down in the basement until now.  I pulled it out of the box and put it together.  It it so nice!  Tanner likes to sit in it.  He's all ready for some food!  We finally started feeding Tanner rice cereal at about 6.5 months old.  Chase and Bridger only liked rice cereal when it was mixed with a fruit or vegetable.  But Tanner surprised us and loved it!!!  His first couple of bites were pretty funny.  He puckered up and wasn't sure about it.  But then he couldn't open his mouth fast enough.  He's a very messy eater but that's to be expected.

 The next morning we fed him some more rice cereal and he was all smiles again.  He definitely likes it!  While I'm fixing Chase and Bridger some breakfast, I put Tanner in his high chair with some toys on the tray.  He's very content to play with his toys.  I put a rubber car on the tray and he really liked the car.
We fed Tanner rice cereal for breakfast and dinner for several days.  Once we saw that he was doing fine with the rice cereal we added some fruits and vegetables.  Just the rice cereal was giving him hard stools so adding the fruits and vegetables has helped.  We tried green beans for a few days, then added sweet potatoes.  He's tried peaches, bananas and apples for breakfast.  There was one night where he must have been really hungry because he ate green beans and some apples.  I canned some applesauce in October and I'm so glad because Tanner loves it!  I think his favorite thing is bananas.  December 2, 2014

Tanner's First Tooth

While we were on our trip, we noticed that Tanner had a tooth poking through.  It's the bottom front right tooth.  No wonder he's been drooling so much.  Luckily he hasn't been ornery with it.  Nov 16, 2014

Tanner's First Sippy Cup

This morning I gave Tanner his first sippy cup with water in it.  He seemed very excited with it but didn't know how to use it.  He just chewed on the drink.  Eventually he'll learn how to drink from it.  He's such a cute baby!!!! We're having so much fun with him.

Handsome Boys - Tanner 6 months

I took Bridger and Chase out of school to take pictures with Tanner.  I needed to do Tanner's 6 month pictures so I brought the boys along.  I scheduled the appointment for 2:30 and it was the wrong time for Tanner.  He only had one big smile for the us, but he wasn't looking at the camera.  The rest of the time he was Mr. Serious!  He sometimes would do a little half smile but I just didn't feel like we captured his happy personality.  The photography place was awesome and said to bring Tanner back for a reshoot.  So after our Orlando trip, I brought just Tanner in for a quick 10 minute reshoot and it went so much better!!!  It's so hard to time everything.  He was much more cooperative!  We got lots of smiles this time!  The pictures of Chase and Bridger turned out really well.  They look so grown up in their pictures!

She took a couple of silly pictures of Chased and Bridger jumping in the air at the same time.  Bridger loved it!  Bridger brought a couple of Star Wars figures in with him.  While she was taking pictures of Tanner she looked over at Bridger playing with his figures and took a few pictures.  He loves his Star Wars "guys."

Tanner 6 Months Old

Tanner is six months old!!!  He is still so happy!  I took him to the doctor for his routine check up.  He's only gained a half a pound since his four month check up.  He's in the 34 percentile for his weight and 75th percentile for length.  I thought he was a little chunky but he's perfect!  He's reaching all of his major milestones.  He's smiling, laughing, cooing.  I love to hear him babble.  He still loves to blow raspberries.  He sleeps through the night (most nights).  Sometimes he wakes up around 5:30 and wants a bottle but then goes back to sleep after the bottle until 7 or 8:00.  He's rolling over!!!  If he's laying down and you hold onto his hands, he tries to sit up.  He can't quite sit by himself yet.  He still tips over but that will come.  We're waiting to feed him solids until we get back from our Orlando trip.  The doctor said that's fine to wait another couple of weeks.  It's not worth the mess.

Tanner likes to sit in the swing for short periods of time (like 10 minutes).  He's getting really good at picking up his toys and switching the toy in his hands.  I took some pictures of him when he first wakes up.  He is so smiley!!!
