Bath Time with Tanner

Tanner loves his baths.  He is so good to not cry.  He likes the warm water.  He stays so pleasant and just lays on the yellow foam pad and is happy as can be.  Chase and Bridger love to come in and watch him bathe. They always make him smile.  They are such good helpers!

Warped Wall!

So while Angie was here, the boys really wanted to go to a jumping/foam place.  We we went to L's.  The boys were really excited because L's has created a new "ninja" obstacle course with a warped wall just like the show American Ninja.  The boys played a little bit on the trampolines and in the foam pits but the majority of the time was spent on the obstacle course.  I love this picture of them in the foam pit.  They are such good friends.  I love how well they play together.

The boys were determined to conquer the warped wall.  They had two walls: one was 10 feet and the other one was 6 feet.  Chase tried the shorter wall and conquered it within a few tries.  He was very proud of himself.  Bridger tried for over an hour to "beat the wall."  Finally after an hour he did it!!!  It was such an awesome moment!!  There were a couple of teenagers that were cheering him on too and it was so sweet to see the people cheer Bridger on.  He is such a determined little guy!  Angie and I both teared up when he finally climbed the wall.

One of the obstacles on the ninja course.

The boys loved having Angie there to watch them.  It was such a fun afternoon.  Look at their red cheeks.  It shows how hard they were working.
Angie captured this picture of Tanner with a big smile on his face.  He's just happy to see his Aunt Angie.

Rodeo

At Matt's new job, he was offered free tickets to the S.F. rodeo.  So we invited Angie to come with us and celebrate the 24th at the Rodeo.   We went out to dinner before the rodeo.  When we got to the rodeo we realized that this wasn't just a small town rodeo.  It was quite the production.  Our "free" seats were awesome.  We sat under an awning so  we weren't in the sun and we had actual seats instead of just sitting on the bleachers.  We were sitting right above where the bulls came out so it was awesome!!  Chase went to a rodeo when he was three but he doesn't remember it so it was really their first rodeo.

The boys really enjoyed the rodeo.  Bridger was very concerned with the "roping" of the animals.  When the little kids rode the sheep, he said to me "I want to do that next year!!!"  Watching the little kids on the sheep is my favorite part.  It always makes me laugh.  When the bull riders came out Bridger said "I want to do that when I grow up."  I told him you have to live on a farm with animals so you can practice.  He asked "why can't we just put some animals in our backyard."  I love his little brain.  Tanner was so good during the rodeo.  Luckily, he likes to be in the baby bjorn.

Professional Pictures of the Boys

Grandpa and Grandma R met us at the mall last week and bought Bridger a new suit for his baptism. It was slim pickings because he was very particular in what he wanted (and what sizes the store offered).  He chose an all black suit and a fancy black and silver tie.  He looks SO handsome and grown up!!!!  I love this close up picture of him because it shows how he's missing one of his front teeth.  One of the front teeth is already coming in.  Bridger is full of sunshine!  He loves to smile and be kind to others.  He's a very good friend.  He's still taking piano and is improving each week.  He loves to play "farm land" and "clash of clans" on my iPad.  He's very into any iPad game.  I think he would play it all day if I let him.  He and Chase will still play playmobil together.  It makes my heart so happy to hear them playing playmobil together.  They will play Monopoly for hours!  They also like to play Phase 10 and Uno Attack.  Bridger is really improving his reading skills.  He likes to read "Little Bear" and his favorite books are the Magic Tree house series. Bridger is very inquisitive!  He likes to know what's going on.  If you're talking to someone else, he'll pop up and say "What mom? What's going on?"  He likes to be in on things.
Chase likes to play "Farm Play" and "Clash of Clans" on his iPod.  He's very into iPod games.  He and Bridger like to play the wii together.  Their favorite games are Mario cart, Lego Marvels super heroes, and Disney Infinity.  He's still playing the piano.  We've been really bad about lessons this summer.  But I love to listen to him practice his songs.  He loves sports!!!  He was in heaven this summer watching the FIFA world soccer cup.  This summer he's been practicing basketball, soccer and lacrosse.  He goes out everyday and practices soccer.  He's very dedicated.  He is such a great helper with Tanner.  He and Bridger will babysit Tanner while I go for bike rides in the morning.  If I'm busy, he'll just sit and hold Tanner and put Tanner on the ground and stay by him.   Chase loves to get slushies for a treat.  He would get one everyday if we would let him.   Chase is so good to read at least 30 minutes every morning. He usually reads in his bed before he comes downstairs.  He loves the Michael Vey books and the Animal Spirit series.  This summer we've been ready Henry and Beezus.  I love reading with the boys.  It reminds me of all the times mom used to read with us.  We had some great memories reading together!

I think Chase and Bridger look so handsome in their church clothes.  They look so grown up sitting in the chairs.  The boys love to wear "sport" clothes.  The days are gone of dressing them in matching gymboree clothes.  Luckily they were good about wearing matching outfits for the casual pictures.

 Our sweet boys!!!

I wanted to get Tanner's 3 month old pictures done before Chase went to camp next week.  So I was a little early but at least there're done now.  I was so happy that the photographer was able to capture a few of Tanner's smiles. I was worried that Tanner would be really ornery because he didn't get a good morning nap.  But he had a little cat nap right before pictures and it was enough to tie him over.  Plus the photographer was really efficient and  was able to get some great pictures!!!!   Tanner is the happiest in the morning.  When you go to get him out of his crib, he has the biggest smiles for you!  It makes me so happy when he smiles!  Sometimes he can be so serious and there is nothing you can do to make him smile.  He drinks 6oz when he wakes up in the morning and sometimes before bed.  Otherwise during the day he just drinks 4oz.  He's so funny because it doesn't matter how much you feed him, he always cries when the bottle is finished.  He gets so mad when he realizes that the food is all gone.  Once he calms down and gets a good burp out, he turns back to his happy self.  He loves to snuggle.  I've tried to work on a nap schedule a little but we've been so busy it's impossible to be consistent.  So we'll work on that when Chase and Bridger go back to school.  Tanner takes the best naps when he's snuggled in your arms.  But for right now, I'm soaking up the snuggling!  He likes to sit in the swing for shorter periods and watch the "owls" above his head.  He does great in the bouncer chairs!  He takes lots of naps in those.   When he's had a good nap, he likes to lay on the floor and stretch out.  He likes to look at Sophie when she walks past him.  He even tolerates her wet kisses!

I think Chase looks so grown up in this picture.  He likes to wear his hair very short.  If I would let him, he would have a buzz all the time.

Bridger and Chase are best buddies!!!  I love the picture where they're looking at each other and smiling.  They have such a neat connection.  They are very kind to each other.  They love to play soccer together.  They will go out in the backyard for hours and have penalty kickoffs.  Their favorite show to watch on TV is American Ninja Warrior.  They would watch the reruns everyday if I would let them.  After a couple times of watching an episode, I make them delete it.  They play "Ninja" all around the house and backyard.  They are very strong!
I love this picture of Bridger because I think his personality shines through.  I love his big smile!
Bridger is so excited to turn 8 next month.  It's a big birthday because he'll be baptized in September.

Holly gave these sweet little shoes to Tanner.  They finally fit him.  I love how tiny his little feet are. Chase and Bridger are very into their Nike socks.  I wanted a picture to remember this "sock" phase that we're in and show the different sizes in the boys.

Tanner 2.5 months old

Tanner just keeps growing.  My sweet friend Krissy gave him these pjs and I've loved them.  They've been so soft and comfortable for him.

I love this picture of my "boys!!!"  Chase and Bridger love to dog pile on Matt.  Angie captured this moment.  I think Tanner's expression is priceless.

Tanner is filling out.  He's getting some chunky cheeks.  When I put him in his car seat it makes me realize how big he's getting.  I love the picture of Tanner sleeping.  I still look at him in awe and can't believe that he's really ours!!!

Biking the Canyon

I've been working really hard at getting back into shape after having Tanner.  Most of the time, I just go down to the basement and get a quick workout in when Tanner takes a nap or he'll sit in his bouncer chair and watch me.  My favorite workout is to go for a bike ride.  Chase and Bridger will babysit Tanner while he sleeps and I'll go for a bike ride.  One morning Michelle and I bike AF canyon up to T. lake.  I was a lot slower than I normally was but it's been over a year since I've biked the canyon.  Michelle was so sweet to wait for me.  I was so happy to reach the lake and enjoy the beautiful view.  I wanted to capture the moment and celebrate my victory.  It's so rewarding to feel my body getting stronger!  I'm so grateful for what I can do!

Bridger's Birthday Dinner with R's

Before Mom and Dad headed out on their Ireland trip, they wanted to take Bridger out to dinner for his birthday.  After suit shopping, Bridger chose to eat at Olive Garden.  He likes to eat just the basic spaghetti, nothing fancy.  He'll even eat the salad and a bread stick.  The adults ordered a special where our dinner came with a dessert.  It's a good thing because they used my dessert for Bridger's birthday cake.  We wouldn't want him to have an empty plate like they did for my birthday.  Bridger thought it was his and ate most of it.  He "shared" it with me and gave me a couple of bites.  It was so sweet of Grandpa and Grandma R to take us out to dinner.

Tanner Little Over 2 months old

Tanner is very stingy with his smiles.  The minute I get the camera he will not smile!  So I've had a hard time capturing a smile.  But when he does smile, it melts your heart!  It is so sweet!!!  He is such a happy baby!

Tanner loves to snuggle and take naps with his daddy.  The boys love to spend time with Tanner.  They put a blanket on the ground and then lay down by him.  They like to do "tummy time" with Tanner.

Chase's Scouting Hike

Chase and his scout group went on a 5 mile hike along the J. R walkway.  The clouds were really dark when they started but it never rained on them.  Chase is really good about going to scouts every week.  He has great leaders.  Chase was a little worn out by the end of the hike because he had been at a basketball camp and swimming for most of the day.  Chase is so lucky to have so many friends in the ward.  Starting from the left is Joseph, Easton, Justin, Sam Carpenter, Brenden and Chase.

Tooth Fairy's Dream

So the boys both lost teeth on the same night.  Matt and I joked that it was a tooth fairy's dream because she only had to make one stop.  Bridger lost his other front tooth and Chase lost a baby molar.  Bridger had been working on his front tooth for awhile.  He was very determined to get it out after Chase lost his tooth.  Sure enough, Bridger twisted it really hard and it came out!  Bridger didn't want the tooth fairy to take his tooth the first night but after a couple of nights, he was ok with her coming and taking his tooth away.
