Bridger's Birthday party

Bridger has been talking about his birthday party since March.  I was hoping that he would count bowling as his party.  But a few weeks later he asked when he could have his "friends" party.  So I quickly threw a party together for him.  He wanted to go to Kangaroo Zoo with his best friends, Brody and Bronco.  We call them the three musketeers.  Mom brought Maddy and Julie down for a little bit cause Mylissa's in the hospital with the new baby.  Bridger doesn't like cake so instead he picked out fat boy mint ice cream sandwiches.   He was so excited to open his presents.  They kids had so much fun at Kangaroo Zoo.  When we first arrived there was just a handful of other kids.  I was surprised that it wasn't busier.  It never got very busy.  They kids had so much fun!  They ran around jumping and sliding on everything for a couple of hours.  Bridger was so happy!

Chase's First Day of 3rd Grade

Chase had his first day of school on August 23, 2011.  He's so excited to be in third grade.  His teacher is Ms. Hinckley.  We've heard wonderful things about her.  He came home from school and said "I think it's going to be a good year with Ms. Hinckley."  He picked out a new back pack this year.  His old one finally fell apart. He was relieved to see a few friends in his class.  His friends Brenden and Sam are in his class.  Bridger was really sad that he couldn't go to school with Chase.  He doesn't start preschool until after Labor day.  I love this picture because I think it captures their relationship.  Bridger is always wanting to be close to Chase.  I love how Bridger snuggles up next to Chase.  Chase is so sweet with Bridger.  He's a very good big brother.  They are best friends.  They love to play with each other.

New Van

After a couple of months, we finally came to a decision and bought a new car.  We decided on a van.  Actually I decided on a van.  Matt was leaning towards an Accura MDX.  It was a very fun car to drive but I was worried that it was too small.  I've been used to so much room with the van.  I didn't think that I would go back to a van but I really do love all the room and how convenient it is with kids.  I never have to worry about my kids dinging someone's door.  They hop in and out so easily.  It has a lot of fancy features.  I'm really happy with it.

We've had a hard time finding vehicles to look at.  The dealers just haven't had anything on their lots.  So one day we were test driving another car and drove past the Honda dealership.  We pulled in and saw this van.  We were excited to finally see a "touring" edition.  We were happy with the color and it had everything that we wanted.  So we offered them a really low price cause I wanted to think about it over night.  But they came back and accepted so we bought a van! Matt teased me that he bought me this van for my birthday.  He said not to expect this big of a gift next year.

Birthday Bowling Fun

We weren't able to do anything fun on Bridger's birthday because of soccer games and girls camp. So when we came home on Saturday we asked Bridger what he wanted to do to celebrate his birthday. He said he wanted to go bowling. So we invited the C's to come with us. The bowling place gave Bridger a pin wishing him a happy birthday. We signed our names on the pins. Chase got one for his 4th birthday so Bridger felt really special to get his own. Aliyah was so funny to watch. She would jump up and down cheering when the ball would knock down the pins. Chase is getting to be a good little bowler. Bridger is strong enough to carry the ball all by himself. Sometimes he even likes to roll it by himself and not use the bowling ramp.

After bowling, Bridger chose to eat at Mi Ranchitos. He's decided that he likes Mexican food especially the rice. At the end of dinner, the workers brought out fried ice cream and sang to him. They brought a big sombrero for Bridger to wear. He had such a big smile on his face. It was a great night.

Bridger's 5th Birthday

Life was a little crazy around Bridger's birthday. Chase had a soccer tournament in Park City for a couple of days. Then we went to girls camp for a few days. So on his birthday he had to wake up early because of Chase's soccer game. But I made him blueberry muffins. After the soccer game, we went over to the outlets and bought some school close. Then we headed down to girls camp. Bridger had waited all day to open his presents so as soon as we got there he opened his presents. The only thing that he wanted for his birthday was a blue scooter so he was ecstatic when he opened it up. When he opened the big box he said "I knew it!" He was also really excited to get lots of legos and the playmobil swimming pool. After presents, it was dinner time so we went over and ate dinner with all the girls. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to Bridger before dinner and then they let us be first. Then we went back to the camper and had ice cream sandwiches. Bridger doesn't like cake and he wanted marshmallow brownies but I didn't have time to make them. So he picked out mint ice cream sandwiches.

The A's had a birthday party for all the August birthdays on Sunday.  Bridger loved being able to celebrate his birthday. He finally got to eat marshmallow brownies. I love the big smile on his face.  He got a lot of fun presents from everyone.  Amy and Mike gave him a Cars book with a CD he can listen to and some money.  He later used the money to buy a playmobil garbage truck.  Then Grandma and Grandpa A gave him some pirate lego sets.  He's a very spoiled little boys.  Lots of people love him.

Chase's P.C. soccer tournament

Chase made it on the X-league with the Ranger's academy. He's so excited to have Raeder on his time. His team participated in a tournament in P.C. They had the boys play up a level so more boys could play at one time. But the other players were really good and big so they didn't win any games. The good news is that they didn't get blown out. They stayed right with the other teams and only lost by 1-3 goals. Chase has improved so much in a year. It's really fun to watch him.

I love this picture of Chase and Breaker. They have such a sweet friendship. Raeder was still playing.
